Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

“His grace which He lavished on us”

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace
which He lavished on us.  In all wisdom and insight
He made known to us the mystery of His will,

according to His good pleasure which He set forth in Him,
regarding
His plan of the fullness of the times, to bring all things together in Christ,
things in the heavens and things on the earth.
In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, . . .”

(Ephesians 1: 7-11a NASB)

How should our reflection on our future inheritance impact the way we live today?

Let us consider what God has already done—for us—so that we might be restored to our Creator.

  • HE LOVED—US.  GOD DID!
  • HE CAME TO DWELL AMONG—US.  JESUS DID!
  • HE WAS BRUISED & HE SUFFERED IMMENSELY—FOR US.
  • HE DIED—FOR US.
  • HE AROSE FROM THE GRAVE—FOR US.
  • HE BLESSED—US.
  • HE CHOSE—US.
  • HE PREDESTINED—US.
  • HE FAVORED—US.
  • HE MADE KNOWN—TO US—THE MYSTERY OF HIS SALVATION.
  • HE REVEALED HIS ONLY SON JESUS—TO US.
  • HE SAVED—US—WHEN WE TURNED AWAY FROM OUR SIN.  GOD DID!
  • HE FORGAVE—US.  GOD DID!
  • HE LAVISHED—US.  GOD DID!
  • HE REDEEMED—US FOREVER.  GOD DID!
  • HE SEALED—US—WITH HIS HOLY SPIRIT.  GOD DID!

HE DID!

GOD DID!

GOD ALMIGHTY DID ALL THIS—FOR US!

JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD!

GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT SENT TO DWELL WITHIN US FROM THE MOMENT OF OUR SALVATION!

This is His grace which He lavished on us”

So, the question becomes:  How should our reflection on our future inheritance impact the way we live today?

  • We can focus on the essentials.
  • We can really see those who surround us who have not yet received Jesus.
  • We can look forward to our future.
  • We can walk closer today in relationship with Jesus than we walked yesterday.
  • We can listen when God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit.  &
  • We can obey God!
  • We can join with God in His mission that all mankind might come to know Him as their Savior.
  • We can love others in Jesus’ name.
  • We can be the hands and feet of God as we do the tasks He sends us to do.
  • We can go deeper in God.
  • We can allow God to open our eyes to see Him as He truly is—His Character.

We can truly LIVE in the fullness of relationship given to us through His sacrifice!

What is God’s Plan for His children?

  • To bring heaven to earth through our lives—every day!
  • To do so, we must know the heart of God.
  • Moment-by-Moment.

GOD WANTS HIS CHILDREN TO LEAD OTHERS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM!

Over and Over and Over, God tells us NOT to live scared.

Again and Again and Again, God tells us to “Go & Tell & Make Disciples.”

  • God Gives Us Responsibility!
  • God Wants us to Draw Close to Him—DAILY!
  • God Repeats this throughout His Holy word BECAUSE He wants us to remember—WE HAVE SOMETHING TO DO!
  • God wants His children to walk within His will.

Therefore, what does God want His children to accomplish within His will?

THAT QUESTION MUST BE OUR ON-GOING DAILY QUESTION!

BECAUSE

His grace which He lavished on us”

Biblical Joy is far more than just simple emotion!

Joy in Christ flows from our connection with the Lord.

Spiritual Joy transcends our circumstances, our life situations, and even our moods.

We can REJOICE in HIM—In JESUS CHRIST—No Matter What!

Let us end with the words of our Savior Jesus Christ that He spoke to His disciples before His crucifixion & to His disciples today:

“I will not leave you as orphans;  I am coming to you.
After a little while, the world no longer is going to see Me,

but you are going to see Me;
because I live, you also will live.
On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you.
The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me;

and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father,
and I will love and will reveal Myself to him.”

(John 14: 18-21 NASB)
