If we . . . Then God will _______ . . .
What do you want—most?
What change do you most want to see?
Where do you want to see change—most?
Are you willing to work toward that which you desire most?
Are you obediently obeying God in the present, knowing that He is at work through you?
Are you trusting God: His plan, His timing, & His provision?
It’s hard to imagine the depth of anguish the prophet Isaiah felt for his people. We read and we sense the anguish, but we cannot fully understand unless we too can empathize with the prophet because we too know the depth of anguish we feel for our people.
Anguish.
Gut-wrenching pain.
Impossible-feeling peace over the situation—APART FROM GOD!
“Cry loudly, do not hold back;
(Isaiah 58:1 NASB)
Raise your voice like a trumpet,
And declare to My people
their wrongdoing,
And to the house of Jacob their sins.”
Does God answer prayer?
Does God change situations because of the prayers of the saints?
Does God live through the lives of His children, walking with them, transforming them as they go, affecting those who surround them, helping the world see Jesus through them?
YES!
YES!
YES!
Jesus Christ came to provide the only way to know God!
Jesus Christ came to build His church!
Jesus Christ came to die, to sacrifice Himself, to raise to new life, to defeat death, to show the world THE TRUTH—HE IS GOD IN THE FLESH!
Jesus Christ came to place His Holy Spirit in us!
Jesus Christ came to live through us as He draws the world around us to know Him in personal relationship!
If we . . . Then God will _______ . . .
“Cry loudly, do not hold back;
(Isaiah 58:1-2 NASB)
Raise your voice like a trumpet,
And declare to My people
their wrongdoing,
And to the house of Jacob their sins.
Yet they seek Me day by day and
delight to know My ways,
As a nation that has done
righteousness
And has not forsaken the
ordinance of their God.
They ask Me for just decisions,
They delight in the nearness of God.”
- Do we dive deep into discipleship?
- Do we keep the Sabbath?
- Do we reach out to the lost?
- Do we feed the hungry?
- Do we house the cold?
- Do we fight for the release of the oppressed?
- Do we cry out to the LORD on their behalf?
- Do we go wherever God sends us to go?
- Do we speak the words God gives us to speak?
- Do we do that which God gives our hands to do?
- Do we meet the needs of those who surround us?
- Do we pray for others’ needs more than we pray for our own?
- Do we share life and tell those surrounding us how the gospel relates to every single thing happening within our life?
- Do we walk with the Lord Jesus Christ?
- Do we fast and pray and read God’s Holy Word?
- Do we share the Gospel message and allow the Holy Spirit to do the rest?
- Do we patiently wait upon the LORD?
- Do we trust in God’s plan & His purpose for our life?
If we . . . Then God will _______ . . .
“Cry loudly, do not hold back;
(Isaiah 58:1-2 & 6-7 NASB)
Raise your voice like a trumpet,
And declare to My people
their wrongdoing,
And to the house of Jacob their sins.
Yet they seek Me day by day and
delight to know My ways,
As a nation that has done
righteousness
And has not forsaken the
ordinance of their God.
They ask Me for just decisions,
They delight in the nearness of God. . . .
Is this not the fast that I choose:
To release the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the ropes of the yoke,
And to let the oppressed go free,
And break every yoke?
Is it not to break your bread
with the hungry
And bring the homeless
poor into the house;
When you see the naked, to cover him;
And not to hide yourself
from your own flesh? ”
If we . . . Then God will _______ . . .
If you . . . Then God will _______ . . .
If I . . . Then God will _______ . . .
“Then your light will break
(Isaiah 58:8-11 NASB)
out like the dawn,
And your recovery will
spring up quickly;
And your righteousness
will go before you;
The glory of the LORD will
be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the
LORD will answer;
You will cry for help, and He
will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you remove the yoke
from your midst,
The point of the finger and
speaking wickedness,
And if you offer yourself
to the hungry
And satisfy the need of the afflicted,
Then your light will rise in darkness,
And your gloom will
become like midday.
And the LORD will
continually guide you,
And satisfy your desire in
scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like
a watered garden,
And like a spring of water
whose waters do not fail.”
Jesus gave His Great Commission to His disciples before His crucifixion, His death, His resurrection, & His ascension back to heaven.
JESUS GAVE HIS DISCIPLES THE LOVE OF CHRIST TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD!
- To help the hurting.
- To care for the oppressed.
- To feed the hungry.
- To heal the sick.
- To proclaim the day of the Lord.
Jesus gives His Great Commission to us (His disciples) who point toward His crucifixion, His death, His resurrection, His ascension back to heaven.
JESUS GIVES US (HIS DISCIPLES) THE LOVE OF CHRIST TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD!
- To help the hurting.
- To care for the oppressed.
- To feed the hungry.
- To heal the sick.
- To proclaim the day of the Lord, to exclaim to others surrounding us: “JESUS WILL COME AGAIN!”
If we . . . There is a lost & dying world surrounding us.
May we do whatever God has called us to do!
- Then God will _______ . . .
If you . . . There is so much oppression, so much hatred, so much lostness surrounding us.
May you do whatever God calls you to do!
- Then God will _______ . . .
If I . . . There is a walking beside Jesus, a journey with God (individually) we must follow, a laying down of our cross to pick up HIS!
May you & May I do—whatever God calls us to do!
- Then God will _______ . . .
If each child obediently learns to let go & let God . . .
- Then God will _______ . . .
There are three melodies that resonate today.
- One by Jack Cassidy “Let Go, Let God” &

Listen if this day provides you time.
“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience;
(Colossians 3: 12-17 NASB)
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone, just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also.
In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
Let the peace of Christ, to which you
were indeed called in one body, rule in your
hearts, and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you,
with all wisdom teaching and admonishing
one another with psalms, hymns, and
spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness
in your hearts to God.
Whatever you do in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
