Are We Fatigued?
Fatigue looks like many different things to the world.
**Possibly fatigue comes to us because we are caring for someone longterm.
**Possibly our fatigue comes because of the stress of striving to hold together an important relationship.
**And possibly the fatigue comes from fighting against something that is attacking our health.
**Yet, then there’s the fatigue that arrives because we just cannot see any good way out of a certain situation.
**Maybe we are just so tired of the slowness of change that never seems to arrive.
**As a believer in Christ Jesus, we are still so human. Yes, we are stuck inside a sinful body and immersed in a world filled with sin. Even that can cause us heart and mind fatigue because sometimes we just want to throw up our hands and say, “Why God?”
Truly, we can experience fatigue even in the slowness God’s timing, of how God seems to be moving so slowly in a person’s life. Maybe we have prayed for years OR maybe we have witnessed over and over to a person God has led us to love, and God seems be moving the person forward SO SLOWLY. FATIGUE. All people experience this dreaded state.
**Fatigue could even be with us because of the Coronavirus, because of the restrictions or all the precautions, and also because of the numerous delays, the changes that we must constantly endure?
**Fatigue comes with the duration of something going on and on, forever unchanged.
**We can even become fatigued by the number of text messages or emails that come to us.
**Yes, fatigue can even come because we are stuck within a substance abuse that grips us tightly.
***Truly comes with the Lack of Anything Ever Changing, but forever remaining the same.
***Quite possibly, fatigue can even come to some because they are so tired, so caught in their constant struggle of whether God can be believed at His Word and His Truth (found in the Bible).
Fatigue.
Totally Tired.
Wiped Out.
Exhausted.
Undone.
Spent.
Do any of those sentiments describe each of us on this second Sunday, on this 7th day of February? We passed by Groundhog Day a few days ago, and though we may laugh at the silliness within this 1993 movie, it could be that we feel the fatigue of being STUCK in a never-ending repetition of life and its demands.
Yes, we could hear the morning alarm each morning, sit up in bed, stretch, throw back the bed covers and arise from our bed, walk over to the window, peer outside, ever hopeful to see a change. Yes, we arise, so hopeful that the world has magically changed while we slept, that TODAY will bring a brand new world—-one without whatever has continually brought us great FATIGUE.
The God of the universe has so much to say about this topic of fatigue. Truly, it’s so amazing that every person—Who lives now,Who lived before us, &. Who will life after us will ALL deal with this feeling of Fatigue.
Look at what the prophet of God, Micah, had to say about what is required of mankind. “With what shall I come to the LORD. And bow myself before the God on high? Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings, With yearling calves? Does the LORD take delight in thousands of rams, In ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my firstborn for my rebellious acts, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”(Micah 6: 6-7)
Man’s cries to God on high, but look closely at verse 8&9. “He (GOD Almighty) has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? The voice of the LORD will call to the city—-And it is sound wisdom to fear Your name:’Hear, O tribe. Who has appointed its time?”(Micah 6: 8-9).
Fatigue does come to ALL people. Fatigue has, indeed, already come. Fatigue will also remain with mankind even once our lifetime is complete.
So, the question really becomes one——What must I do to combat against this lifetime filled with such fatigue?
“Do Justice.” Meaning Live Right; Live In Honesty.
“Love Kindness.” Meaning Help Others.
“Walk Humbly with Your God.” Meaning We Must Have A Relationship With God So We Can Sense HIS Presence Right Beside Us As We Journey Through Life.
Just three small things given to help our battle against the fatigues of life. How are we doing? Today IS a Brand New Day. Arise Child. Get Out of Bed. Yet Instead of peering out at the world, seeking its hope. Turn to God’s Word, instead. Read the Bible. Seek God.Bow down beside our bed on our knees.
And let us search for the only ONE who brings relief, who changes everything!!!!
