Where Can We Go? & Where Can We Run?
Think (for a moment, if you will) about the POWER of GOD.
Think about how God knows each of us.
Think about how God cares for our every life-detail.
Think about how God knows if we suffer from back pain or if our mind is in turmoil from mental anguish.
Think about how God is aware if we even suffer from the stress of a too busy to-do list that leaves us too little time for rest on this Monday.
Think about how much God knows about us.
In playing with Clementine on Saturday and hearing her giggle, I was asking her where she was most ticklish, (and to be honest) I knew her answer—-EVERYWHERE!!!
She was full of giggles, and I only needed to point at her tummy or her knees and she would break out in a new round of giggles.
Today, let us think about that for a moment—–God even knows exactly where every one of us are most ticklish (our weakest spot) & God knows even if we are NOT ticklish.
God knows us intimately.
God created us personally.
God was there (present in His omniscience) when HE placed us inside our mother’s womb. The Bible clearly tells us so in Psalm 139:15-16.
At the moment, God created each of us—–our unformed substance into a person. It was then (in that that solitary moment) that God counted out our days and planned our lifespan.
God IS So Powerful!!!
God searches us.
God knows us.
God knows when we sit down to rest or when we sit to enjoy a cup of coffee with our best friend.
God knows us when we pray.
God knows what time we arise, and God knows exactly why we arise at that time of day.
God knows our thoughts (although they seem only ours), still God knows them well.
God looks forward at the path we will take today, & (although HE knows some of our steps will not be so good) Still God allows us to step where we may.
God is so “intimately acquainted with all my ways” (and your ways too–Psalm 139: 3).
Truly——GOD Is GOD Is GOD Is GOD!!!
The 139th Psalm of David outlines just how intimately God knows each one of us.
Think about it—-God knows our individual thoughts BEFORE “there is a word on my [our] tongue” (Psalm 139: 4).
In America alone, there are 366 million people (according to the North American Mission Board), & David tells us that GOD knows Every Single Person’s Thoughts and Words—–EVEN BEFORE THOSE THOUGHTS & WORDS RESIDE INSIDE THE PERSON’S MIND!!!
GOD IS SO POWERFUL!!!
GOD Is GOD—-Is GOD—-Is GOD!!!
GOD IS AMAZINGLY GOD!!! WOW!
David writes, “Behold, O LORD, You know it all” (Psalm 139: 4). Then, David asks two simple questions, and on this beautiful morning, we should ask them to ourselves (as well) because in seeking these two answers, we realize that it’s really just a simple answer.
The ANSWER—–“No Where”
Q1—-“Where can I go from Your Spirit [God’s]?
“Q2—-“Or where can I flee from Your presence [God’s]?”(Psalm 139:7).
THE ANSWER—-No Where………………………………………………………………………..
Tenth Avenue North sings a beautiful melody titled “Control (Somehow You Want Me)” &
Maybe today we will listen to the words found in the melody.
Maybe today we will take time to read David’s 139th Psalm.
Let us read the twenty-two verses aloud.
Let us HEAR the words.
Let us HEAR how God speaks to our soul.
Let us SEE how our mind constructs an image of God.
Let us SEE how God reveals our smallness.
Let us SEE God’s omniscience & omnipotence & omnipresence.
May we each SEE & HEAR GOD in our one Today!!!!!!
Experience how much God desires that we come to know Him. Realize how much God desires to know each one of us individually. Realize how God does Not need us. & (Most importantly) Let us Realize how much God wants us to know HIM!!!!!!!!
Let us Realize how much God wants us!!!!!!!!
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts.; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way” (Psalm 139: 23-24).
Are we willing to SEE GOD today? Are we willing to ACCEPT Him into our heart (starting today)? Are we willing to WALK along beside HIM (starting today)? Let us be fully aware that in HIS amazing love, God will never lead us astray! God’s Grace and God’s Mercy are everlasting!
TRULY, LET US REALIZE………Today.
Yes, truly God is everywhere and HE “enclosed [us] behind and before. & “laid [God’s hand] upon [upon each one of us]” (Psalm 139: 5).
A child’s giggles can reveal so much. In Clementine’s laughter and wiggling around in our playtime Saturday night, I fully became aware of her tickle spots & saw God and His amazing POWER as I heard the giggles of the sweetest giggles from a precious child. Thank You, God for knowing our every intimate detail about our being. Thank You, God for knowing us & our shortcomings (our weak areas—our tickle spots). Thank You, God for Your salvation, knowing that once we accept Jesus as our Savior & begin to walk through life as Your child, then we can become more and more and more aware of Your amazing power. Yes, Thank You, God for NOT allowing us to run so far away from You. And Thank You, God that we can NEVER escape Your amazing Power.
Dear God,
It’s us. Today, we are asking You instill a deep desire to know Your goodness and Your mercy and Your grace more, on this day, than we knew it yesterday. Help us God (in our many weaknesses) to desire to know YOU as much as YOU already know us. & We ask for YOUR help, LORD, as we seek to know YOU more and more. Help us LORD know YOU.
Amen.
let me know you more each day.
Oh, yes, LORD, may Larry’s prayer be every believer’s daily prayer.
