Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

“the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know”—

Of late, I have developed a fascination with the study of a “Sabbath” rest, how we are to daily allow for time to “get away” with our LORD, and so, it is not surprising that today my mind would be drawn to a Scripture that touches upon the rest our LORD provides.

Oh, how we are to praise Him because He does!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD . . .”

(Psalm 92: 1a NASB)

We are to offer continual thanksgiving—

  • On-going!
  • Never ceasing!
  • Always!
  • Constantly!  &
  • Suddenly upon our lips!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD
And to sing praises to Your name,
            O Most High; . . .”

(Psalm 92: 1 NASB)

We are to give space within our day to read, to absorb, to immerse, to memorize, to study God’s Holy Word, given to us to guide our daily steps.

STOP!

  • Just consider how God sent His only Son!
  • Just pause & think of how God sent Jesus to die for us!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD
And to sing praises to Your name,
            O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the
morning
And Your faithfulness by night, . . .”

(Psalm 92: 1-2 NASB)
  • May God’s Word stir our hearts!
  • May God’s Holiness stir us to obedience.
  • May God’s Amazing Love stir us to compassion.
  • May God’s Unending Mercy & Saving Grace stir us to share Jesus with those we know.
  • May we be stirred by the very presence of God’s Faithfulness!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD
And to sing praises to Your name,
            O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the
morning
And Your faithfulness by night,
With the ten-stringed lute and with
the harp,
With resounding music upon the lyre.”

(Psalm 92: 1-3 NASB)
  • Sing.
  • Praise.

Lift your Hands High!

  • Sing.
  • Declare God’s Goodness.

Praise the LORD with all you are!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD
And to sing praises to Your name,
            O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the
morning
And Your faithfulness by night,
With the ten-stringed lute and with
the harp,
With resounding music upon the lyre.
For You, O LORD, have made me glad

by what You have done,
I will sing for joy at the works of Your
hands.”

(Psalm 92: 1-4 NASB)
  • Sing.
  • Offer thanksgiving to our Creator, Redeemer, & Messiah!

Consider God’s Faithfulness!

  • Always!
  • Never-Ending!
  • Constant!

Present within us who know HIM as our Savior!

“It is good to give thanks to the LORD

And to sing praises to Your name,

            O Most High;

To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning

And Your faithfulness by night,

With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp,

With resounding music upon the lyre.

For You, O LORD, have made me glad

            by what You have done,

I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.

How great are Your works, O LORD!

Your thoughts are very deep.”

(Psalm 92: 1-5 NASB)
  • Oh how easily we can become focused on the problems that surround us.
  • Oh how fast we can go down that “rabbit hole.”

Oh how easy!

Oh, let us remember.

YES!

  • Let us remember & never forget—How Amazingly Wonderful Eternity in Heaven will be!
  • Let us recall & never forget—Just exactly what Jesus Christ did for each one of us!
  • Let us tell all we know about our Savior & Lord Jesus!
  • Let us sing praises to the KING of Kings!

Let us!

May we offer continual thanksgiving—forever & ever!

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,
so that you will know
what is
the hope of His calling,
what are
the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
and what is
the surpassing greatness
of His power toward us who believe.

These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
which He brought about in Christ,
when He raised Him from the dead
and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named,
not only in this age but also in the one to come.”

(Ephesians 1: 18-21 NASB)
