Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What Surpasses Knowledge?

Stretch out our arms wide, look toward the left fingertip and then look right; see our full height.
Now hold up our arm and look at the length from our wrist to our elbow; see our foot’s full length.
Then hold up our hand and create a fist; see our heart’s full size.
Many times, at the end of a conversation with Sydney and Marieke, I will write, “I love you, and God loves you more!” Although these are just words, what do these words: “God loves you more” really mean?

Let’s say that we must contain the totality of ALL LOVE for ALL HUMANITY within us, within our individual body, would we be able to contain such love? Would we be——-Tall Enough?    Long Enough?    Large Enough?  Deep Enough?
The Bible teaches us that God’s Holy Spirit has been poured into our hearts.  Much Scripture within God’s Word describes the power found within God’s love, and so, it’s vitally important to continually ask ourselves:    What are we doing with the love of God that has been freely given to us?

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up with all the fullness of God”  (Ephesians 3: 14-19).

The love of God for His creation surpasses everything!!!
It’s so wonderful how God provided us a way to see ourselves (our bodies) and understand our dimensions in relation to the size of God & His love for us.
So today is a great day to ask ourselves——What if we were tasked with building a dwelling that could house the love of God?    Could we even construct such a dwelling?    If we could, would we ever be able to select the perfect construction materials to use?     Would we hire a team of skilled carpenters, welders, and craftsmen to construct our dwelling or would we attempt a do-it-yourself job?
Most definitely,  we would need to consider who best to build our dwelling to house the love of God. Most definitely, we would need to recognize that God Himself builds us with the power of His Holy Spirit. Most definitely, we need to receive Christ Jesus into our hearts “to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, [so] that we may be filled up with the fullness of God” (vs 19).

Clearly, I am not a builder, (and I don’t know about you), but if I attempted to build this structure, it would most definitely lean to one side, not at all measure properly to stand, and would collapse to the ground during the next weather-filled day.    I am NOT a builder, and I would never want to even attempt to construct the dwelling that would comprise the totality of God’s love for all humanity.
However, let’s say we were given the task of building such a structure, one that represented the LOVE of Almighty God.
What precious building materials would we choose?  Would we even have enough cash flow to hire all the skilled craftsmen needed for such a task? When asked to select a certain color for our dwelling, could we, & if so, what color?

Height.   Width.     Length.     Depth.    Yes, today, if we were charged with building a structure to house God’s love, clearly the size of the structure would be SO MUCH GREATER in proportion to each one of us because……..
GOD’S AMAZING LOVE IS…….SO MUCH TALLER, SO MUCH WIDER, SO MUCH LARGER, & SO MUCH DEEPER THAN ANYTHING!!!!

Therefore, because the height, width, length, and depth of God’s AMAZING LOVE for us is SO VAST,………………let us………………….
Name an area where we don’t really trust God. &
Name an area where we really think God does not love us.    &
Name an area where we believe our strength and abilities exceed those of Almighty God.

Let us examine our hearts today.
Let us examine if we really trust the love of Almighty God.
Let us examine how God has lovingly removed something or someone from us or has instructed us to give up something, and let us see how are we doing with that loss?

Are we remembering that GOD IS LOVE & WE ARE TO FULLY TRUST HIM? Are we remembering that truth today & everyday?
Are we on our knees asking God to help us walk through our days, knowing that God loves us way too much to allow us to walk alone?
Are we on our knees asking God to move our mountains that loom in front of us, trusting that God is the mover of all mountains?
Are we are on our knees asking God to fill us with His power and to give us His courage as we do His will found in today…….fully confident that He will?
Are we fully trusting Almighty God? Have we accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts so we can become fully immersed with God’s love?
GOD IS LOVE!!! JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR EACH OF US & JESUS AROSE TO LIFE IN ORDER TO CONQUER DEATH & PROVIDE A WAY FOR US TO RECEIVE GOD’S AMAZING GRACE THROUGH HIS SALVATION.
Truly, God’s full love for humanity can be found only through the acceptance of His Salvation. Let us immerse ourselves in God’s love.
Let us immerse ourselves in Jesus Christ——filled completely with His love for each of us.    &
Today, when the struggles come (and they will), let us love in Jesus’ name…….fully remembering that God’s love is BROADER, LONGER, HIGHER, & DEEPER……………………………………THAN ANYTHING!!!
