Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

“I Love You!”

The other day, we were riding along in the Subaru, and we were talking about relationships with others, specifically the relationship with men.  That’s when she asked the question:  “Mom, how did you know?”

Even though I was driving, I turned to the right where she sat next to me and replied, “You mean—How did I know he was the one?”

“Yeah,” she replied.  “Of all the ones, how did you know he was the one you wanted to spend your life with?”

As I sit here, four days removed from my answer, I realize my answer that I gave her was not really sufficient at all.

Of all the ones, how did you know?

“I Love You!”

I love You—Exclusively!

I love You—Yes, Only You!

I love You—More than life itself!

I Love You!

How can we ever say, “I Love You” apart from God?

Seriously, I believe we use those words too loosely.  Yes, we have heard this argument before, but can we remember the first time we said those words about a piece of clothing, or a particular food, or even a favorite destination?  To Love!  Should we ever loosely use the words “I LOVE” other than to describe a living person?

No, we should not! We should never say the words “I LOVE” about anything that is not a living, breathing being.

We speak of love to the person we had shared time with, to the person we have dated for quite some time, to the person we have decided to date exclusively, to the person we have discovered is the one we want to share our lives with—Yes, Most Probably.

“I Love You.”

First, “I” must discover the truth.  That requires insight.  This requires that we must look deeply inside ourselves to really see—the truth!

Second, “Love” means the one who has looked intently inside his heart and discovered the truth must then decide to make a movement, to turn toward and then respond, to do something—so the truth Can Be revealed!

Lastly, “You” requires another person to be present with us.  “You” is a special word that can mean “You” alone, but—“You” never means me!

“I Love You”—We speak these words as we hug someone we love goodbye or when we turn to someone we love and bid a goodnight.  Even at the end of our letters and cards, we write these words, but are we ever guilty of being slow to put these words into action?

In the Word of God, we read how God created the heavens, fashioned it with His hands, and then placed the moon and the stars in just the exact place where we can navigate our way home.  We also see the name of God.  Please read with me.

“This is what the LORD says,

He who gives the sun for light by day

And the fixed order of the moon

and the stars for light by night,

Who stirs up the sea so that

its waves roar—

The LORD of armies is His name: . . .”

(Jeremiah 31: 35 NASB)

“I Love You.”

Yes, God made the only way for mankind to know love when God sent His Only Son from heaven to earth so we could know the love of God!

“I Love You.”

Those are God’s Words demonstrated through God’s Actions!

God created us, placed us within our mother’s womb, and then God pursues us with His Everlasting Love until we open our eyes to SEE, to DECIDE, to RECEIVE the LOVE GOD HAS FOR EACH ONE OF US!

LOVE began with GOD!

LOVE always begins with GOD!

As I sit here, four days removed from her question:  “Mom, how did you know?” I realize the enormity of the question she was asking.

How can we know? The LOVE Truly Is LOVE!

WE SEE LOVE DEMONSTRATED!

WE INTERNALLY KNOW THAT WE NEVER—EVER WANT TO BE SEPARATED FROM GOD, THE ONE DEMONSTRATING—LOVE FOR US!

  • Jesus Christ left heaven—for us!
  • Jesus died upon the cross of Calvary—for us!
  • Jesus came to earth for each one of usso we could KNOW HIM!

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the

Christ has been born of God, and every-

one who loves the Father loves the child born

of Him.

By this we know that we love the children

of God when we love God and follow His

commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep

His commandments;  and His commandments

are not burdensome.

For whoever has been born of God

overcomes the world;  and this is the victory that

has overcome the world:  our faith.

Who is the one who overcomes the world,

but the one who believes that Jesus is the

Son of God?

(1 John 5: 1-5 NASB)

Truly, we can hardly comprehend the Love of Almighty God!

LOVE—It Is & It Will Always BeA gift from GOD!

Four days ago, when we drove home from the university, my beautiful daughter asked me the question, & she was speaking of an “earthly” kind of love that we have for the man of our dreams.  I realized that she was asking me:  “Mom, how did you know Darrell was the one?”

Without a doubt, there is absolutely no way mankind can ever love another person the way God Loves us!

God’s Love for each one of us is so much deeper than our human love; through God’s Love, we discover LOVE!

Hear the melody “Oh the Love of God” by Dara Maclean.

“I Love You!” Those are God’s Words—demonstrated through—Jesus’ Actions Upon the Cross of Calvary!

We See & We Accept this Truth!

We See & We Believe!

We See & We Confess our sin against God  & We ask God to Save Us!

Then we can experience the TRUE LOVE of GOD when we become a child of GOD!

“But as many as received Him, to them He

gave the right to become children of God, to

those who believe in His name,

who were born, not of blood, nor of the

will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but

of God.”

(John 1: 12-13 NASB)
