Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

So MUCH LOVE!

How tall are you in meters?  In inches?

How wide are you in girth?  (I know, a touchy subject.)

How heavy are you in weight in pounds?  (Again, a touchy subject.)

How much of you does the Lord God love?

Some of you?

The good parts of you?

Much of you?

The holy parts of you?

All of you?

The good, the bad, the whole parts of you?

How much of you does God save?

Some of you?

All of you?

Today, I am reading and focusing upon the LOVE of a Most Holy God.

“Who will separate us from the love of Christ?

Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Just as it is written,

‘FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;

WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.’

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that

neither death, nor life,

nor angels,

nor principalities,

nor things present,

nor things to come,

nor powers,

nor height,

nor depth,

nor any other created thing,

will be able to separate us from the love of God,

which in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(Romans 8: 35-39)

Today, my twenty-three-year-old daughter who God gave to us in 1999 is visiting the family and home of another “loved” one God gave us to love in 2015.

I write this comment only to say:  Do we REALLY know how much love God provides?

Do we REALLY know how much love God allows us to experience?

Do we REALLY know how much God really loves us?

Do we REALLY know How much?

Does God love us enough—that He would give us as many “good” days that balance against the (what seem to be) “bad” days?

Does God love us THAT MUCH?

How much love—REALLY—does Almighty God have for each of us?

If we tether ourselves to another, we are tied to them.

If we willingly allow ourselves to become tied (to another), then we are tied to them, until death do we part.

If we are willing—then we will allow it.

If we are able—then we will allow it.

How much love—REALLY—does Almighty God have for each of us?

Jesus lived.

Jesus gave His life.

Jesus stayed dead for three days in His tomb.

Jesus resurrected to new life.

Jesus’ resurrection is what tethers us to eternity.

Without the death of Jesus, there is no grace.

Without the tomb of Jesus, there is no life.

Without the resurrection of Jesus, there is no hope.

Without the death, there is no gift of God’s mercy and grace.

How much—REALLY—does Almighty God love each of us?

So MUCH LOVE—that He Gave His Only Son—to Die for each one of us!

So MUCH LOVE—that the grave cannot be defeated without the cross.

So MUCH LOVE—that God’s salvation cannot be received without the resurrection of Jesus from death to life.

So MUCH LOVE!

Jesus Was!

Jesus Is!

Jesus Will Always Be!

“And they came to John and said to him, ‘Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.’

John answered and said, ‘A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.

You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’

He who has the bride is the bridegroom;  but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.  So this joy of mine has been made full.

He must increase, but I must decrease.

He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth.  He who comes from heaven is above all.

What He has seen and heard, of that He testifies;  and no one receives His testimony.

He who has received His testimony as set his seal to this, that God is true.

For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God;  for He gives the Spirit without measure.

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

(John 3: 26-36)

How much does Almighty God love each of us?

How much—REALLY—does Almighty God love each of us?

So MUCH LOVE—that He Gave His Only Son—to Die for each one of us!

So MUCH LOVE—that when we confess our sins, He remembers them—no more!

So MUCH LOVE—that He died for each one of us!

So MUCH LOVE—that He stayed buried for us for three full days!

So MUCH LOVE—that He arose from the dead (for each of us) to new life!

So MUCH LOVE—that He was seen by more than 500 witnesses after His resurrection.

So MUCH LOVE—that the centurion exclaimed, “Surely You are the Son of God!”

So MUCH LOVE!

“He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Just as a father has compassion on his children,

So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

For He Himself knows our frame;

He is mindful that we are but dust.”

(Psalm 103; 10-14)

How much does Almighty God love each of us?

How much—REALLY—does Almighty God love each of us?

So MUCH LOVE—that He tells us so in His Word—the Bible.
