Man’s Foolish Thinking—Or—GOD’S POWER & GOD’S WISDOM!

People who do not know God often think our relationship with God is really just a waste of time or maybe even a sign of weakness. Oftentimes they are in awe of the way we seem to have a relationship with God, but they cannot really see what they cannot see. So, they may audibly say, “I am still searching for a higher power. It’s wonderful that you believe so passionately, but I just don’t know if what you have is what I need. I am still searching.”
I am SO THANKFUL that GOD did not leave my SALVATION in the hands of my own understanding and search!
I am SO THANKFUL that GOD—in all HIS WISDOM—knew I needed A SAVIOR, even when I was so ignorant to the whole idea of the CROSS of CALVARY.
The apostle Paul was a “mentor,” a “teacher,” & an “encourager,” one who had been around the “spiritual block” (so to speak). Paul knew what it meant to NOT BELIEVE, and Paul knew what it meant to SEE THE LIGHT of GOD—to SEE GOD & to BELIEVE!
Young Timothy was raised in a home by a Christian mother & grandmother, but his daddy was a Greek and a bit of a skeptic. Timothy, when he was a young man, needed a mentor, a teacher, an encourager, and another who would pour into him, who would teach him & lead him to seek God deeper—a spiritual growth. Timothy needed a “Paul” in his life.
Yes, we are SO THANKFUL that GOD did not leave our SPIRITUAL GROWTH in the hands of our own understanding and search!
And Yes, we are SO THANKFUL that GOD—in all HIS WISDOM—KNEW we needed a mentor, when we had our DOUBTS.
SO THANKFUL that GOD—KNEW—we needed an encourager, at those times, when we brushed those thoughts away to the back of our minds, when WE THOUGHT we surely were the only ones who ever had DOUBT of the SECURITY of GOD’S SALVATION.
No one ever speaks of their DOUBT, of their FEARS that just maybe they had NOT DONE ENOUGH—NOT PRAYED the RIGHT PRAYER, or NOT DONE ENOUGH—GOOD WORKS (in this world) FOR GOD TO SAVE THEM.
SURELY I must be the ONLY ONE WHO EVER DOUBTED!
SURELY I must be the only one who is not sure if I “DID IT RIGHT” when GOD SAVED ME!
SURELY, SURELY, SURELY—
GOD DID IT ALL!!!
GOD DID!
- WE ONLY NEEDED to ACCEPT the TRUTH of JESUS’ DEATH, BURIAL, & RESURRECTION.
GOD DID IT ALL!!!
GOD DID!
- WE ONLY NEEDED to BELIEVE in FAITH, BELIEVE in the SAVIOR—JESUS CHRIST.
GOD DID THE REST!!!
GOD DID!
GOD DID IT ALL!!!
- WE ONLY NEEDED to CONFESS our SINS.
JESUS DID ALL that needed to be done upon CALVARY’S CROSS!
GOD DID IT ALL when HE RAISED JESUS UP FROM THE DEAD TO NEW LIFE!
- WE ONLY NEED to ACCEPT in FAITH the “INVISIBLE”—is the TRUTH of GOD!.
- WE ONLY NEED to BELIEVE the “UNBELIEVABLE”—is BELIEVABLE!
- WE ONLY NEED to RECEIVE—the “IMPOSSIBLE”—for GOD to SAVE us, to become a CHILD of GOD!
Inside the Word of God, we find the TRUTH of SALVATION.
Paul’s letter of encouragement and teaching to the believers at Corinth reveals this TRUTH.

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written,
I WILL DESROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE,
AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE.”
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
(1 Corinthians 1: 18-25)
I am SO THANKFUL that GOD did not leave my SALVATION or my SPIRITUAL GROWTH in the hands of my own understanding and search!
I am SO THANKFUL that GOD KNEW I needed the HOLY SPIRIT to lead me & to guide me & to help me “GROW UP” in SPIRITUALITY!
THANK YOU GOD for—
YOUR SALVATION & for
YOUR PRESENCE in my life.
THANK YOU GOD for—
KNOWING what we needed even before we did & for
SENDING another person to tell me about the SAVIOR NAMED JESUS.
THANK YOU GOD for—
PROVIDING YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to lead us to the CROSS of CALVARY for—
MEETING us at the FOOT of the CROSS.
THANK YOU GOD for—
PROVIDING THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW—YOU!
THANK YOU GOD for—
SENDING mentors into our life, for
SENDING others who were willing to walk beside us, to teach us MORE ABOUT JESUS, & for
SENDING those who would encourage us as we “GROW UP” SPIRITUALLY.
God’s model of the Gospel has really never changed.
Mankind is God’s model—one person to another person to another person to another person.
One man testifies to another, who testifies to another, who testifies then to another.
On & On & On & On.
How do we advance the gospel?
We speak to another about how God changed us.
We testify of GOD’S POWER & of GOD’S WISDOM!
