RADIO SILENCE . . . And What God Provides
Are you courageous?
Am I courageous?
Do we seek to do the will of the LORD despite the cost?
Would we willingly accept separation? Silence? Loss of Communication—Just to Proclaim the Salvation of Lord?
Do we LOVE GOD ???
&
If we speak that we DO LOVE GOD, then . . .
How much do we Really LOVE—GOD !!!! ? ? ? ? ?
Radio Silence is a terrible thing. Years ago, I was a radio broadcasting major, & my favorite college professor (Dr. Don Orwin) used to preach at us (over & over & over & over): “Do not allow the radio to be silent. Silence provides time for a listener to change the station, to decide to not engage, to become ‘unengaged’ with the radio station you are announcing for, so avoid RADIO SILENCE!!!”
Dr. Orwin. He changed my life.
Dr. Orwin was once a prison of war, so he saw the need, the real & true need, to learn Morse Code.
Dr. Orwin saw the need to be able to communicate with others, at all costs.
Dr. Orwin saw the need to retain one’s sanity, even when life was not as we had envisioned.
Dr. Orwin was a man of integrity.
Dr. Orwin was a man of great wisdom.
Dr. Orwin was my hero, & if he were still alive, I would sit down across the table from him, just to listen to the way he taught me the importance of RADIO, of COMMUNICATION.
RADIO SILENCE.
What does God say about Radio Silence?
What does God provide for us this day?
Unfortunately, today, I am not employed as a radio disc jockey.
BUT . . .
HOWEVER . . .
IF I LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO TAKE A NEW CAREER, then—Maybe someday, Radio Broadcasting will be my career.
Maybe someday, I will leave the field of teaching to return to the field of broadcasting.
Maybe someday soon, I will have a microphone in front of my face.
Maybe someday, I will receive the “Radio High” of speaking into the microphone, (one that I share with my students).
Maybe someday, I will speak (again) into the microphone, into the world of listeners, of those who are there, but who cannot be seen.
Truly, it—RADIO BROADCASTING—IS a beautiful thing: the talking, the not knowing who is listening, the spinning of the records, the programming, the working of a soundboard to complete a set, the life of a Radio Disc Jockey.
Yes, I do miss it.
Yes, someday (before I die) I hope to return to this career.
Yes, someday.
Hopefully, if my life continues, I will have the pleasure of facing the microphone and knowing the “world” of listeners, those who are “out there, listening.”
Oh, how true that statement is for a believer, for a Christian.
LISTENING.
LISTENING. SEEING. WATCHING. HEARING THE WAY WE SPEAK GOD . . . EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!
Oh, how this is TRUE for the BELIEVER, FOR THE ONE WHO WITNESSES OF GOD!
OH, HOW TRUE THIS IS FOR THE ONE WHO CALLS,
“LORD, LORD, &
WHO KNOWS THAT GOD IS THERE,
THAT GOD NEVER FORSAKES US,
THAT GOD NEVER LEAVES US,
THAT GOD IS ALWAYS THERE—EVERY SINGLE DAY, THERE—
THAT GOD IS THERE WHEN OUR FINAL DAY ARRIVES & WE GO HOME TO BE WITH HIM IN HEAVEN.
Today, I read from the chronicles of the King of Israel, from David and from Solomon. The passage spoke of the temple that was to be built, how God did not desire for King David to build HIS TEMPLE because David was a warrior, & how God desired and prepared King David’s son, King Solomon, to build God’s Temple. Do not believe whatever I can ever say but believe what God says within His Word.
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts.
If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be courageous and act.”
(1 Chronicles 28: 9-10)
We talk to others as we walk through our lives.
We share our faith as we go.
We live and we do not know who is listening, who is watching, or who is there, walking along, beside us, but we live, and as we live—
We walk by faith—YES.
We trust God—YES, and we pray, we ask God to lead them to see Him.
We trust God—YES, and we pray, asking God to guide our steps so that we can become a useful instrument for HIM.
We make relationships with others–YES, & sometimes others hear our witness and believe.
BUT (unfortunately) sometimes . . . OTHERS HEAR OUR WITNESS AND DO NOT BELIEVE.
Sometimes—We face RADIO SILENCE.
PAINFUL RADIO SILENCE.
SILENCE.
WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THE DEVIL ROAMS, SEEKING WHOM HE CAN DEVOUR.
SILENCE.
WE LIVE, NOT IN OUR FINAL ETERNITY, BUT HERE—INSIDE OUR EARTHLY BODY & OUR EARTHLY LIFE!
PAINFUL RADIO SILENCE—
RADIO SILENCE IS NOT FROM GOD, BUT FROM OTHERS, FROM PEOPLE.
RADIO SILENCE IS FROM THOSE WHO WE PRAY FOR, &
RADIO SILENCE IS FROM THOSE WHO SAY THEY DO NOT YET BELIEVE.
RADIO SILENCE . . .IT IS SUCH A DIFFICULT PLACE TO BE!
RADIO SILENCE . . .What God Provides for US, for those who are listening to HIM . . . Within the Radio Silence of this world, of those who do not yet receive HIS TRUTH.
“FATHER,
Thank You, that You never leave us alone.
Thank You, that You hear our prayers, our requests.
Thank You, God, that You see into our hearts, that You know the plans and thoughts we have.
Thank You, for Your promise to sustain.
Thank You, for the hunger You give us . . . for YOU.
Help us never lose that hunger for YOU, despite what may come in this life.
Help us never to forsake You.
Help us seek You more.
Help us to seek You and to allow You to fill the deep recesses of our minds, more & more & more & MORE!
YES, FATHER, WITH YOU, THERE IS NEVER ANY RADIO SILENCE.
YES, FATHER, WITH YOU, THERE IS ALWAYS—YOU—PROVIDING FOR OUR EVERY NEED.
Today is a brand-new day.
We are alive; we are breathing; we have arisen from our deep slumber; and we are thankful that when we arise—YOU ARE THERE—NEVER LEAVING US—NEVER—EVER! ! ! !
Today, we may face challenges, but help us see the challenges as opportunities.
Today, we may face struggles, but help us to see the struggles as opportunities to worship You.
Today, we may receive gifts of service from You, and help us LORD, to glorify YOU.
Help us, Father, today to show others—YOU.
HELP YOU—Be glorified—through the way we live this day.
Father, this is our daily prayer.
Yes, this is what we pray.
Amen”
