Questions to Ask Ourselves on This 294th Day
Today is October 21, 2021 (the 294th day of 2021).
What will keep us busy on this day?
Who will we be honored to see today?
Where must we go & What must we put our hands to do?
These questions may already be planned and out of our control. For example—
We may do our job, the one we have chosen for ourselves.
We may see the same people we see every day we go to our place of employment OR to our school OR to our volunteer location.
We may go where we always go, doing what we have always done, and in that, there is solace.
However, what if we did not?
What if today we totally lived for the moment, seeing everything fresh in a brand-new way?
What if today we saw someone NEW, someone we have never seen before today?
What if today REALLY became the first day of our brand-new life?
Today can be.
We can BECOME a brand-new person today.
Yes! Yes, we can.
When we choose to become new, we may react as the choir director, a son of Korah, did when he exclaimed, “O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy.” (Psalm 47: 1)
One of the reasons people do not arrive at where they hope to go, to become, to achieve, or to succeed at—-IS because they remain in their present with eyes only seeing their present and their past. Sure, they may SAY they are going to do this or go there or become this—-BUT, in the deep recesses of their beings where truth resides, they doubt. In the place of doubt, resides fear and distrust and disbelief. Truly, no one should ever remain there—in Disbelief OR Distrust OR the Fear of Uncertainty.
Do not believe me but believe God. He never lies. Never.
His Word is Sure & Secure & Honest.
“But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
(Philippines 3: 7-11)
More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
In order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
So, What should we do on this 294th day of 2021 & Where should we go & Who should we lift our hands and clap for joy—Only because we are in His presence?
Questions we must each ask ourselves.
Questions no one can answer for us because God gives us an individual choice, an individual decision to Accept Him or Not.
A decision with an eternal consequence, no doubt.
WE CAN KNOW ABOUT GOD THROUGH WHAT WE SEE—THROUGH WHAT THE WORLD TELLS US—THROUGH WHAT WE SEE WITHIN OTHER’S LIVES
OR
WE CAN KNOW GOD FOR OURSELVES—WITHIN AN
INTIMATE,
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
WITH HIM.
We can know about the sovereignty of God—OR—We can KNOW the Friend we have in Jesus Christ.
We can skim and scan through life, pausing to grab a Bible verse here and there—OR—We can meditate upon and apply God’s Word to our lives.
We can walk through this one day (the 294th day of 2021) focused on our own plans—OR—We can focus upon our LORD & Savior, seeking to go wherever He leads us to go, doing whatever He leads us to do, speaking His truth to all we meet.
Today—This Decision Is Ours To Make.
Who will we trust?
Who will we follow?
WHO?
Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived said it this Way—
“Commit your works to the LORD
(Proverbs 16: 3)
And your plans will be established.”
