Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

The Way is Sure; The Path is Open to All

In 2021, we traveled to Austria, and while my out-of-shape body struggled to climb to the top of the chosen summit, still I was amazed by what has been discovered.
See in your mind a beautiful mountain as we drove to the ski lodge and parked our two vehicles.  Climbing out, we felt the chill in the air, even though the calendar page proclaimed the month July.
After our tickets for the sky-lift were purchased, we walked to the lift platform where we would embark on our climb.  I must admit, I was pumped, for hiking in the Alps sounded so exhilarating.
Up we rode, as the lift took us higher and higher and higher and higher (truthfully, I do not remember how many meters UP we traveled by cable to reach the lift platform sitting at the top, but the treetops were left behind) and still the cable pulled our cable car UP.

The top was not THE TOP!

No, we were given the opportunity to climb (that’s why we wore our hiking boots).
How many times can we climb to the same summit and never tire of reaching the top, and never tire of seeing the beauty and tranquility found there?
Marieke says, “Never,” and that’s probably why she hopes one day to own a hut, a place where people come to hike and sleep for the night, a place to rest and eat before they leave to hike even more.
That day of our hike, I am ashamed to admit that I had to often rest to catch my breath, but I refused to stop in my climb to the TOP!

Is that not the truth about God?
Isn’t that where we come to know God’s amazing grace—-in our hike through life, while not quitting even though our bodies scream in protest sometimes. Our eyes remain on the top, on where we are going, on where we hope to reach.

It is there (on the life-journey) where we meet God (Almighty God) who the Bible says does not want anyone to perish but wants all men to be saved.

Do not believe me.  Believe God !!!

“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

(1 Timothy 2:3)

Did we see that? !!
GOD wants all to come—to come to what is good and acceptable.
GOD is our Savior!
GOD desires every person alive to be saved.
GOD wants everyone to come to the knowledge of the truth.

That sunny, July day on the climb, we hiked beside free-range cattle who wore cow bells around their necks so the rancher could locate them when he needed to bring them home.
That day, we walked wide rocky pathways and narrow (hug the mountainside paths), and still we continued UP toward the summit. That is where we found (to my delight) LAMBS! Yes, lambs peacefully grazing right there, as if to say, “Welcome.  We are so glad you came.”

Read with me the next few Bible verses found in 1st Timothy.

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.”

(1Timothy 2:5-6)

There is a single road, a single path to the summit, to Salvation–the path that leads straight to God.
However, some do not hike that path.
Some take the long journey, winding their way, taking more steps needed, maybe becoming winded, knocked down, and scraped as they wander through their life-journey LOST and apart from God’s grace.
Yet that is NOT God’s will—that any person remains lost, in separation to Him.

GOD Desires ALL !!!

Crowder sings “Red Letters,” a beautiful melody about how our walls fall and we Become Free on the single-most important day of our life—the Day we meet Christ Jesus.

Every step on our climb toward God’s Salvation is of God.  HIS!

We reached the top that day and stood there amazed at what we saw!
Yes, I will climb again.
Yes, I will one day revisit the lambs of God, waiting there for me at the top.
Because I know that I know that I know—one day, I will go to heaven, and when I do, I will never leave, but STAY there within the presence of God Forevermore.

Won’t we choose to See GOD today!

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.”
&
The words of Christ, when He was speaking to the Apostle Thomas, to describe the Only Way to know God.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life;  no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

(Romans 10:17) & (John 14:6)
