A walk through life toward eternity

Just As You Are

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

(The Gospel According to Matthew 11:28 NASB)

The words of Jesus are such a simple request, one that encompasses a depth not experienced fully here on earth. ‘Come to Me, . . .’

He speaks to each person, and He does the rest.

So, we ask, “What does it mean to ‘Come . . .’ as Jesus speaks?”

The answer really is quite simple: We simply turn from where we are headed, and we ‘Come to [HIM] Me . . .’

Some will ask, “Where are we headed?”

The answer really is profound:  Each person alive, everyone to be born in the future, and even every person who was born in the past ARE ALL headed toward death.

So morbid, I know, but the truth really is THE TRUTH. Thus, the Lord Jesus helps us as He provides the complete rest each person ever needs. Jesus says: ‘and I will give you rest.’

The definitive answer to all life’s questions really do REST in our eternity. Each person either walks toward Complete Rest found in Jesus, or he does not, and instead walks toward Utter Despair, where he will be Completely Separated from God’s Amazing Love Forevermore.

You were made for God.

Come to Jesus, just as you are, and you will find complete rest in Him. Tension. Stress. Worry. Pain. Fear. Anxiety. Jesus knows that even a get-away, a holiday, or a month of vacation will never satisfy the deep rest you need.

Only God the Father can fully restore your soul.

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

(The Gospel According to Matthew 11:28 NASB)

Jesus beckons you to ‘Come’ just as you are, broken, ‘weary and heavy-laden.’ Jesus knows we are burden by the decision we are called to make, for our sinful nature keeps us firmly planted in our despair. That is until we pause and look up. It is there we will see Jesus, the Savior, the Messiah, and the Redeemer, standing with His arms outstretched, ready to receive us all.

So, the question becomes, “What must I do to receive the complete rest Jesus offers?”

Isaias, the first hurricane of the season and the first storm since 2024 has made landfall, and with it, the storm brought torrential rain and wind, along with flooding. The governors of the states cannot provide all that will be needed, nor can the government provide everything a person will need to withstand the storm. All are ‘weary and heavy-laden’ and in need of rest from the storm that rages, even inside our being, in our soul. Isaiah is the biblical name that means “Yahweh is Salvation” and the storm name ‘Isaias’ is a derivative of the name Isaiah, the prophet, who still proclaims these words to you today.

“He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.”

(The Book of Isaiah 40: 29 NASB)

Come apart and find rest, or you will come apart.

Truly, a Sabbath Rest is—offered to ALL.

  • Might you receive the power of Jesus today.
  • Might you pause in your searching, in your turning, and in your lostness?  &
  • Might you find Complete Sabbath Rest for your soul?
