What Is—the WORD—There-For(e)?
Living.
Active.
Sharper.
Piercing.
Dividing.
Judging.
All-Seeing.
Omnipresent.
Omnipotent.
Omniscient.
Faithful.
Confident.
Sympathizing.
Tempted, yet Sinless.
Two “therefore(s)” contain the power to cause our thinking to change.
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest…” (Hebrews 4:14)
“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace…” (Hebrews 4:16)
- Today, I wonder if we fully realize the power that flows through our bodies once we become God’s child.
- Today, I wonder if we fully believe with all confidence (all faith) how God can use us to accomplish His will.
- Today, I wonder if we fully internalize the mercy and free grace of God we have received (and continue to receive).
We can!
Yes, we can Realize, Believe, Internalize, & Live Out Loud God’s—POWER—as we walk with His Son throughout our Monday, IF—-we create space for studying, really studying God’s Word.
We may know about the benefits associated with Bible study, but let us not ask what we can gain from digging into God’s Word; instead, let us ask—-WHY DON’T WE WANT TO DIG (IN DEEP) & STAY (WITHIN DAILY) BIBLE STUDY?
The Bible speaks so often of Jesus Christ, who is the Word of God, & the author of Hebrews speaks of the power of God found when we dwell within God’s Word.
Please do not believe me but instead read God’s Word with me.
“For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
(Hebrews 4: 12-16)
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we to do.
Therefore, […]
since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Therefore, […]
let us draw near with confidence [with faith] to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and grace to help in time of need.”
- Studying God’s Word every day places our body and minds in the right place—Submission.
- Reading God’s Word every day helps us know and do God’s will for our day—Obedience.
- Applying God’s Word every day strengthens and helps us to withstand the devil’s temptations—Perseverance.
- Making the decision to open, & to read, & to internalize, & to allow God’s Word to change us from the inside out—pierces our heart “as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow [bones], and [makes us fully aware of God because He is] able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (verse 12)
We cannot hide from God.
Everything is “open and laid bare to the eyes of Him…” (verse 13)
Jesus Christ is our high priest—We Must; We Should; We Need—To Take Everything to Him.
WHY?
It’s such an easy question to answer: Because He “has passed through the heavens,…” [Jesus left heaven’s glory to offer Himself as THE ONLY WAY to know God] (verse 14)
So, we are encouraged to “hold fast our confession.” [our belief & our surrender to accept God] (verse 14)
WHY?
It’s such an easy question to answer: Because “we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,” [Jesus understands & Jesus sees & Jesus already knows our individual struggles] (verses 15)
That is correct!!! Jesus already knows, and He knows because He “has been tempted in all things [just] as we are [tempted], yet [Jesus remained] without sin.” (verse 15)
Jesus never asks us to walk alone, but Jesus compels us to “draw near with confidence [with faith found in the power of God] to the throne of grace, [our salvation] so that we may receive [every single day—GOD’S] mercy and find [GOD’S amazing & enduring & overcoming & matchless] grace to help [us] in time of need.” (verse 16)
We do not walk alone—-Ever.
Jesus Christ, our Savior, walks right beside us.(Every Day)
We must not worry—-Ever.
Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, walks right through fires with us.(Every Struggle & Trial)
We must stay inside God’s Word—-Always.
TRULY, That Is WHAT the WORD of god—IS ThereForE—to daily guide us !!!
Jesus Christ, the Son of God—-
- LIVES.
- MOVES.
- SHARPENS.
- PIERCES.
- DIVIDES.
- JUDGES.
- SEES.
- KNOWS.
- LAYS BARE OUR SINS &
- OFFERS US REPENTANCE!!!
WHY SHOULD WE WALK CLOSE BESIDE OUR SAVIOR &
WHY SHOULD WE STUDY THE LIVING WORD OF GOD?
It’s such an easy question to answer!!!
“So that we may receive [God’s] mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”
(Hebrews 4:16)
Let us REALLY—Desire a deeper relationship with God.
Let us REALLY—Desire a closer walk with Jesus Christ, the living Word of God.
