2 Steps forward & 1 Step back.
3 Steps forward & 2 Steps Back.
4 Steps forward & 3 Steps back.
5 Steps forward & 4 Steps back.
Pause for a moment to look back at the words just read.  What do we notice?
With each step forward, the number of gained steps forward—-INCREASES.
And with each step backward, the number of steps lost—-DECREASES.
Even though in life we may oftentimes experience days where we seem to struggle under the weight of backward steps, DO we notice each FORWARD STEP?
Yes, that’s right—-FORWARD MOTION……STEP…BY…STEP…BY…STEP…BY…STEP.
While it is true, we may take 3 wobbly steps forward and then stumble backward 2 steps; yet, we still notice the progress.
And while it is also true we may take 5 excruciating steps forward, only to collapse backwards under the weight of 4 painful steps back; still, we must see the progress made!!!
Life is a journey of steps.
Think back, with me, to see some of our life-journeying steps.
We step, letting go of the coffee table and toddle over to our mama’s outstretched arms.
We step, waving goodbye to our mama, as we board the school bus on our first day of school.
We step, stretching out our right hand toward the principal, as we cross the stage to receive our diplomas and degrees, as our parents stand to clap and cheer.
We step, walking down the aisle to our spouse-to-be, joining hands as the minister pronounces us husband and wife.
Truly, Life Is A Journey of Steps….Thus, we should not be surprised that our walk with our Father, with God, begins with a single step FORWARD. 
YES…..1 Solitary Step.  That’s It.
We Make a Decision.  &
We turn Toward Jesus.  &
We Take 1 SINGLE STEP.

JESUS DOES THE REST.

IN FACT, JESUS ALREADY DID THE REST….ON THE CROSS & IN THE GRAVE!!!!!

1 STEP.
1 STEP forward into God’s Salvation, with no returning back to lostness.
1 STEP toward Jesus Christ the Savior of all mankind.
1 STEP into eternity within God’s presence. 
1 STEP…….and NO RETURNING BACK…….into Satan’s lies.
1 STEP.
THANK YOU GOD FOR OUR 1 STEP.
THANK YOU GOD THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THE REST.
THANK YOU……THAT IT IS YOU (GOD) WHO PURSUES US,   &
THANK YOU (GOD) WHO SEEKS US, WHO STEPS—-WITH OUTSTRETCHED HANDS, REACHING OUT TOWARD MANKIND, OFFERING SALVATION TO ALL.
THANK YOU (GOD).
YES, THANK YOU, GOD!!!

In the Bible, the writer of Hebrews provides us a vision of what Jesus provides with just a single step.

WOW!!!!
WHAT A MOST BEAUTIFUL TRUTH!!!

We can totally, 100% trust God to STEP toward us, to come closer to us, with each step we take toward God.  We take 1 Single Step…..and then we stand amazed as we see what GOD CAN & WILL DO!!!
It is God who steps toward us, and GOD IS GOD, so HIS STEPS are so much LARGER than our small steps.
God sent Jesus to be the Savior of the entire world!!!!!
A GIGANTIC, ENORMOUS STEP!!!!
Our decision to turn away from following the devil’s lies…..STEPPING AS WE TURN TOWARD GOD…..STEPPING AS WE TRUST GOD’S PROMISE….STEPPING AS WE GIVE OUR HEART…..STEPPING TOWARD JESUS…..WALKING FORWARD IN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS….FROM THAT MOMENT FOREVER FORWARD. 
“But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
That I may tell of all Your works [and of Your Beautiful Steps].” (Psalm 73:28)
