Seeking Perfection When We Are So Imperfect
Perfection.
It is a nice thought…
- To consider,
- To hope to achieve,
- To desire,
- To strive to reach,
- To realize that we cannot reach on our own.
Yes, we can give ourselves a break.
Yes, we can pause with a great sigh of relief.
Yes, we do not have to REACH Perfection…..Here on earth. Thank goodness.
But wait a minute. Why not?
Why don’t we have to expect our spouse to always react perfectly?
Why don’t we have to expect our friends to react perfectly?
What about our families? They’re perfect-acting….right, OR….they should be, Right?
Oh come on! What about ourselves? We can at least expect perfection within our own actions, reactions, thought, and everything in between…Correct?
NO!!!! NONE OF THESE THOUGHTS ARE CORRECT!!!
If we could reach perfection on our own, by what we do, through our reactions, or by our just “thinking” perfect thoughts—-THEN WE WOULD NOT NEED A SAVIOR—-THEN WE WOULD NOT NEED JESUS CHRIST—-THEN WE WOULD NOT NEED A MOST HOLY GOD TO SEND HIS SON TO REDEEM OUR SOUL……if we could be perfect on our own. We just cannot get there….to be perfectly complete….on our own.
We cannot PERFORM enough good acts.
We cannot THINK enough good thoughts.
We cannot DO ANYTHING enough.
We need a most righteous Savior, Redeemer, Beloved Son Jesus…..&…..We need God’s Grace & Mercy.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
(Titus 2:11-15)
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.”
We do not base our value in what we do, but only within WHO we KNOW.
We do not need to base our value in how we react, but only within WHO Redeems our Soul.
We do not react perfectly without a Most Beloved Son…Jesus Christ.
So, what do we do, how do we react, what thoughts should we think, or how must we react to every situation?
That Is Such An Easy Question to Answer….We Must Become GRACE–FILLED and That Requires a Savior.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We cannot Be Perfect—-APART FROM JESUS!
We cannot Do Enough Good in this World to Reach Perfection—-APART FROM JESUS
WE JUST…..CANNOT!!!
BUT…..JESUS CAN!!!
Thank You God for Your Most Precious Gift….Jesus Christ our Savior.
May we Seek Only Him.
May We NOT Seek to Be All We Can Be. ORMay we NOT Do All We Can Do. OR
May We NOT Attempt Trying To Say All the Right Things We Can Say…..Just to Prove Our Perfection to this world.
May we Seek Only JESUS.
As a dear friend of mine reminds….”We mess up and daily make mistakes. We wish we could easily change or undo (our mistakes). We strive, have regrets, and ponder our failures, but each day has an opportunity to begin anew. We want to do what’s right. We try and fail, but we must always try again. God’s Word says we cannot be perfect (in this present body), but Christ’s blood covers ALL our sin.” Thank you Julena for this great reminder.
May we Seek to Become More Like the Image of Jesus, a Reflection of HIM……Every Day.
May We Seek HIS Perfection and HIS Completeness, Found Only In HIM…..In JESUS, our Most Holy SAVIOR.
Today, Let Us Realize Our Imperfection….&….Let Us Seek the Perfection Only Jesus Provides.
