Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What Shall We DO? & How Can We Know What We Shall DO?

DOING.  YES, It is an important life-goal.

  • But Being Content Where We Are Standing;
  • Being Satisfied With What We Have Become;
  • Being Stagnant Within Our Walk.
  • Being can also BECOME a life-position, but we should not ever wish to BE, to remain, in that place….
  • Just Being and not DOING.

But, What Shall We DO?…..&…..How Can We Know What We Shall Do?

And, Is DOING What We Know To DO more important than Being What we Want to BE in life?

DOING—-It’s what we are called to DO.

  • Being DOERS and not Being Hearers only—& Yet, what does that really look like in a person’s life?
  • Being a DOER of God’s Word—& Yet, not merely Being (Not Remaining) a Hearer Only.
  • Being….A state of Non-Motion—& Yet, A Stationary Place to Be.
  • DOING….A Movement, A Forward Motion, An Action.

Quite Different whenever we look closely at what each really looks like in a person’s life.
For example—-

  • We can BE sad at the state of our home—OR—We can get up and DO Something.
  • We can BE sad about how little we know about God’s Word—OR—We can get up earlier, DOING what is necessary to Create More Time to Study.
  • We can BE sad about our prayer life—OR—We can DO what we know we should DO Prayerfully Meditate upon God’s Word and as we create a prayer list to pray…to DO Something Intentional.
  • We can BE sad that others are not aware of our Savior—OR—We can DO Something as we stop in the haste of our day and DO…..TELL Someone about Jesus.
  • We can BE sad about the filth inside our hearts—OR—We can DO Something New, Drawing Closer to God.
  • We can BE overcome with sadness that we hurt someone (a friend) with our quick reaction of words—OR—We can DO What We Know to DO…..HUMBLING Ourselves and Apologizing to them for our words, Allowing our Actions to Reflect the Way Jesus Forgives Us.
  • We can BE overcome with guilt because of our sin—OR—We can DO What We Know We Must DO as we Kneel to Pray, Asking GOD for His Forgiveness.
  • We can BE overwhelmed by Satan’s attack on this world—OR—we can Do Something to Influence our World, so our World Can See God’s SALVATION.
  • We can BE so overwhelmed by the weak relationship we share with our spouse—OR—We can Stay Faithful to our Spouse (body, mind, & soul) DOING what we can DO to Remain Faithful.
  • We can BE wishful for more education, for an opportunity to BE something—OR—We can DO Something today as we Search Online, Learning How to Enroll, DOING what we know we must DO to Step Forward, to Reach our Educational Goals.
  • We can BE LOST, walking in darkness, totally separated from Almighty God—OR—We can (today) Decide to Spend Time with someone who we know is a Believer, Seeking God’s Face, Walking toward the LIGHT of the World,  &   Trusting God Is WHO HE SAYS HE IS……Accepting, Believing, & Confessing our sins.
  • We can BE filled with the sad state of our world–OR—We can Attend a Community Action Meeting—DOING what God tells us to DO, SEEKING His face, Kneeling Every Day, Praying for our World, National, State, and Local Leaders.
  • We can BE too scared to witness to others, too frightened to BELIEVE HIM AT HIS WORD, not living as the Christian we know GOD calls us to BE—OR—We can Partner up with Another Believer and DO what we know to DO as we Visit Another, as we Share How God Has Changed our Heart.
  • We can BE……OR……We can DO.  The Choice is Ours, truly.

We are encouraged by James’ words in the Bible as he spoke about the testing of our faith.  God knows how we are weak; God knows How We Need HIS Help to DO what we know we should DO and how we should not remain, not just BE sad.  So God inspired James to DO something—To write these words for us:

“But prove yourselves doers of the Word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
For once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it,   not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does”
(James 1: 22-25).

SEEK GOD’S WILL & DO AS HE LEADS US TO DO.

For the unbeliever—-Doing Life with Christ Jesus really is not a troublesome path to walk.  We must only DO one simple action—Turn from the way we are going  &  Turn Toward God, Seeking Him above our own self.
For the believer—Let us live unto Christ Jesus, totally committed to DOING His Will. Truly, it is not too farfetched.  We must only DO one action—Turn from BEING a hearer of the WORD only, Remembering what we know we must DO & SEEKING GOD’S WILL AS WE DO AS HE LEADS US TO DO.
