Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Where He is, there we may also be

  • No matter how obscure, how unseen, or how invisible a person may feel—God sees each person.  He sees us, loves us, and allows us to be used for His purposes.
  • May we see the cross and see Christ the Savior.
  • There we will see the shepherd with His crook, rescuing His sheep.
  • Then we will see the King of kings, His crown and His sovereignty.

“Now the God of peace,
who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep
through the blood of the eternal covenant,
even Jesus our Lord,
equip you in every good thing to do His will,
working in us that which is pleasing in His sight,
through Jesus Christ,
to whom be the glory forever and ever.  Amen.”

(The Letter to the Hebrews 13: 20-21 NASB)

If you have recently attended a funeral, then maybe you have heard the (very) familiar recitation of The Psalms 23.  Its words are printed on scarves, throws, plaques, and on bookmarks.  We sit in funeral parlors and we listen to the pastor read these six verses, thinking of death, of how the Lord walks us through,

AND HE DOES—WALK US THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,

BUT HE ALSO—WALKS US THROUGH THE PATHWAY OF LIFE.

May we pause there, within our daily lives, and see how Holy Spirit is leading us today, how he led us yesterday, and how He will lead us tomorrow.  He prepares our hearts, equips our bodies, and gifts us to do His will.  Someone may ask us:  How can we know Jesus is ‘for real’? OR How can we know Jesus is ‘the Truth’?  When they ask us (and they will, ask us), we can open our Bible to the familiar 23rd Psalms and show them the sixth verse.

AND HE—LEADS US INTO THE ETERNAL PLACE HE HAS PREPARED FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM.

“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

(The Psalms 23: 6 NASB)

To all the people who will ever be born upon the face of the earth, to all humanity, Jesus Christ has finished ‘It’ upon Calvary’s cross.

“It is finished!”
And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.”

(The Gospel According to John 19: 30b NASB)

Jesus said these words as He hanged upon the cross, as He completed the transaction for us, His sacrificial death for our sins.

If we reject what He accomplished on the cross, then we will receive what we choose—

forsaken of God.

Jesus went to the cross, took our sins, so that no man may never need to be—

forsaken of God.

A person must believe in the work of Jesus on the cross & a person must receive God’s free gift of salvation.

May each person believe in Jesus, in His Salvation, the gift of God & receive eternal life in Christ Jesus.

  • Christ gave His life for the sheep &
  • Jesus gives His love to the sheep &
  • The Savior gives His eternal life.

Christ Jesus sees us & He loves us & He uses us for His purposes, to share His Gospel.

May we tell the world:  Where He is, there we may also be—if we believe in Him!

Christ Jesus said to His disciples, to us, comforting them and us—

Do not let your heart be troubled;
believe in God,
believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
if it were not so, I would have told you;
for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself,
that where I am,
there you may be also.”

(The Gospel According to John 14: 1-3 NASB)
