• Do you pray for those you know who are lost, that they would see the evidence of God that surrounds them?
• Are you praying for those you love who don’t know Jesus, that they would experience His goodness that He reveals through His creations?
• Are you seeking opportunities to share the good news with your family members and close friends who are not ready for their death, for their last breath—before they step into eternity?
• Are you and I ashamed of the gospel, or are we sharing the power of salvation, helping those we know and love place their faith in Jesus?

Consider your position in life. What are you called to do for your life-work? Also, think of those who surround you each day in your place of work. Who do you lead, influence, or stand beside each day? Would your presentation of the Gospel benefit them? Would it change their future and even their today and all their tomorrows? The Lord Jesus Christ calls us as His saints to be witnesses. That means you and me, as well as every believer alive today.

The Gospel works through us as it reclaims a person’s worldview, giving him a biblical view, seeing the Savior. We will encounter persecution, rejection, bitterness, and anger; however, we must never quit speaking Jesus in our world. Jesus is the only ‘good’ within this world, and Jesus does not come to undo the good. We know this to be true for the risen Savior still has holes within His hands and feet. His side still remains pierced, revealing the torture He endured as He went to the cross for mankind.

If we have noticed anything, we have seen how DEATH COMES TO ALL and then eternity. Our spirit lives on, even as our body returns to the dust of the earth. Just yesterday, we stood singing two melodies, listened to the pastor speak the funeral message, and then watched as the mortician carried Aunt Verne’s deceased body to the cemetery. As we walked among the many stones within the graveyard, it remained a truth:  Death comes to all. The evidence surrounded us.

Then after a few more words, the minister thanked us for attending the funeral service and invited us to the meal prepared for us at Olive Garden. We prepared to go, and when we were many steps away, I turned to look back over my shoulder, seeing the stones, seeing the mortician patiently waiting, and seeing the urn sitting there, all alone.  PEACE washed over me, for in my observation, I recalled how Aunt Verne was a believer, how she gave her heart to Jesus years ago, and how she proclaimed the message of the Gospel wherever she went.

Father,

Make our lives focused on what we can do to spread Your Good News. Convict us when we are self-absorbed, self-focused, and selfish with the power of the gospel.

Thank You, God, that we are not merely walking toward our eternity, but that You call us to bear fruit for You. Father, we praise Your eternal plea to come reside with You, that which comes to us through our faith in Your work on the cross and in the grave. Yes, Father, we praise You.  Allow us to be useful to You. We ask as we pray in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.
