If one were to look up the word ‘quickly’ in a dictionary, then he would see how the definition matches exactly. Rapidly and at a fast speed, and with little delay, that is what the Messiah means when He says, “Behold, I am coming quickly,”
Very Soon!
With Speed!
Expeditiously!
Immediately!
Promptly!
Swiftly!
Quickly!
Without Delay!
Instantaneously!
How Jesus comes is truly not the question of the day but this—ARE YOU READY IF HE WERE TO COME TODAY?
The apostle Peter shared time with Jesus before the crucifixion and also with Jesus after the resurrection from the grave, so when Peter writes these words, we should take them as truthful, for Jesus told him so.
Oftentimes, we meet with friends over coffee or lunch, Christians, who like us are ready for ‘the day of the Lord.’ However, how often are we aware of those who are serving us, waiting on our table, collecting our money, or preparing our coffee?
ARE THEY READY TO MEET THE LORD ON THAT DAY WHEN HE RETURNS AS HE PROMISED?
We cannot overlook those who are close by us, listening to snippets of our conversations, those who may have questions about faith, and those—
WHO ARE JUST NOT READY TO MEET THE LORD WHEN HE COMES!
The apostle Paul was also one who shared time with Jesus when the Lord Jesus walked in the flesh, here on earth. This may be the reason why the apostle Paul wrote these words for us to be reminded—
Jesus Himself tells us: “Yes, I am coming quickly.”
We belong to Christ.
It is up to us to live in a way that testifies to others of The Day of the Lord.
That’s Correct.
We must prepare the way of the Lord.
We must announce to the world the coming of Christ.
So, in closing, through the words of the prophet Isaiah, we are instructed how we are to proclaim the words of Jesus Christ, the coming Messiah—“Yes, I am coming quickly.”
