Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Beautiful Reassurance & Wonderful Peace!

“Walk about Zion and go around her;
Count her towers;
Consider her ramparts;
Go through her palaces,
That you may tell it to the next generation.
For such is God,

Our God forever and ever,
He will guide us until death.”

(The Psalms 48: 12-14 NASB)

As a believer, a Christian, as a child of Holy God—you and I will never be alone.

It is a promise of God.  Therefore, when we pass from this life into the next, His Promise will go with us as He will carry us home to heaven.  The apostle Paul reminded us that to be absent from this earthly body is at that same instant to be present with the Lord.

What a beautiful reassurance & wonderful peace our Lord has provided.

God has a deep interest in our present days & God has a deep interest in our future.  Within His protection—

  • He is our Guard.
  • He is our Guide.

The apostle Peter reminds us how our upcoming death has lost its sting.   Yes, it is coming, probably sooner than we expect; however, the stinging blow of death will not have the final say because the Bible says Jesus Himself will transport us into our eternal destination.

What a beautiful reassurance & wonderful peace our Lord has provided.

Therefore, the topic remains:  What would God have us do each day, even this day?

“Walk about Zion
and go around her;
Count her towers;
Consider her ramparts;
Go through her palaces,
That you may tell it to the next generation.”

(The Psalms 48: 12-13 NASB)

These are the words sung by the sons of Korah to the children of Israel, celebrating the Lord’s deliverance of Jerusalem.  God’s love & God’s power has overcome the enemy.  Just walk about & go all the way around the city of Jerusalem to see.  As you go, it will be apparent how God has miraculously delivered, for they would be able to count the towers standing, to be reminded of His safety and care.  Step into the palaces to remember—the kingdom of God has come—now and in the future.  GOD’S KINGDOM IS ETERNAL!

Then, there are also words recorded by the prophet Isaiah, given to the remnant of God’s chosen people, the Israelites.

“To grant those who mourn for Zion,
Giving them a garland
instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise
instead of a spirit of fainting.

So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD,
that He may be glorified.”

(The Book of Isaiah 61: 3 NASB)

Beautiful Reassurance & Wonderful Peace!

  • Rebuild the ancient ruins,
  • Raise & Restore what has been destroyed.
  • Renew & Repair what stands in ruin.

Verse 4 continues:  “The desolations of many generations” speaking about how the eternal disease can be seen across our world.  Home after home lost and without God.

What we do each day can be our way of sharing in Jesus’ ministry as we walk upon earth?

  • Share in God’s work in our world.
  • Be Faithful.
  • Praise Jesus as we walk through our days. &
  • Pray for those in need.

Christians have inherited His calling, given to us through God’s Only Son—Jesus!

The apostle Peter tells us so.

Christians are to be ministers of God.

The apostle Paul tells us, therefore—

  • Pay careful attention to how you walk.
  • Be mindful, discerning mentally as you step.
  • Stay in God’s Word. &
  • Follow our Savior Jesus Christ.

The great evangelist Dwight L. Moody wrote God’s command like this.

“If I walk with the world, I can’t walk with God.”
