A walk through life toward eternity

Despite the Circumstances, God is Still God

“Then Pharoah said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?”
So Pharoah said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are.
You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage;
only in the throne I will be greater than you.
Pharoah said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
Then Pharoah took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen

[Pharoah placed a robe on Joseph]
and put the gold necklace around his neck.
He had him ride in his second chariot;
and they proclaimed before him, “Bow the knee!”
And he set him over all the land of Egypt.”

(Genesis 41: 38-43 NASB)
  • From the favored child of Jacob to the brother thrown into the pit.
  • From the brother sold into captivity to the overseer of Potiphar’s house.
  • From the head of the household to the accused one by Potiphar’s wife.
  • From the one throne into the dungeon to the second greatest in Egypt, second only to Pharoah.

Joseph was made the prime minister of Egypt, & in the obedience of Joseph, Pharoah is shown God!

Despite the Circumstances, God is Still God!

We can fight against life experiences, against unfairness, and even against situations beyond our control, but God, in His might, helps us remember that He remains in complete control.

To see this better, look closely at the life & times of Joseph.

The apostle Paul reminds us of this in his letter to those living in Ephesus.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 2: 4-7 NASB)
