No One Can Say: ‘What have You done?’
When someone is king of the entire earth, he has great power. Thus, when that person, the king, declares something to be true, IT IS TRUE, and no questions are asked. As we journey through these Old Testament passages, please consider this truth:
GOD’S WILL HAS ALWAYS BEEN DONE ON THE EARTH; THEREFORE, JESUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN; JESUS IS PRESENT NOW; and JESUS ALWAYS WILL BE!
It is our task to BELIEVE.
Passage #1—People are placed in power to be used for God’s glory.
“In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah,
(The Book of Daniel 1: 1 NASB)
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.”
Passage #2—Fast forward to the king’s troubling dreams.
“Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face and did homage to Daniel,
(The Book of Daniel 2: 46-47 NASB)
and gave orders to present to him an offering and fragrant incense.
The king answered Daniel and said,
“Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery.”
Passage #3—See the three Hebrew boys’ refusal to worship the king’s golden image.
“Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?”
(The Book of Daniel 3: 24-25 NASB)
They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.”
He said, “Look!
I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm,
and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!”
Passage #4—Notice King Nebuchadnezzar’s response.
“Nebuchadnezzar responded and said,
(The Book of Daniel 3: 28 NASB)
“Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meschach and Abed-nego,
who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him,
violating the kings’ command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.”
Passage #5—King Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges Almighty God.
“Nebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, nations, and men of every language
(The Book of Daniel 4:1-3 NASB)
that live in all the earth: “May your peace abound!
It has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders
which the Most High God has done for me.
“How great are His signs
And how mighty are His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom
And His dominion is from generation to generation.”
Pagans have always lived on this earth, and they have chosen to not believe in the Creator of the world, in God. Nevertheless, that does not negate the presence of God seen throughout time within the presence of God’s only Son.
JESUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN HERE ON EARTH.
He was present at the creation of the world, with God; He was present when Deborah, the Judge of Israel, sang her song; He wrestled with Jacob and then changed his name to Israel; He visited Gideon when he was hiding in the winepress because of his fear; He walked with the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace; and He met with the parents before Samson’s birth. Jesus appeared in numerous situations, places, and circumstances. Thus, the question becomes: Will Jesus be present today in our homes and in our places of work and play?
YES, JESUS IS THE PERSON PRESENT THEN (in the Old Testament); HE IS PRESENT WITH US TODAY; and JESUS WILL BE PRESENT AT THE END OF TIME.
Passage #6—King Nebuchadnezzar the king of the known world praised and honored God.
“But at the end of that period, [after Daniel’s interpretation of the king’s vision]
(The Book of Daniel 4: 34-35 NASB)
I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me,
and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever;
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
But He does according to His will in the host of heaven
And among the inhabitants of earth;
And no one can ward off His hand
Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”
GOD’S WILL HAS ALWAYS BEEN DONE ON THE EARTH!
- THE SON OF GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN!
- JESUS IS PRESENT NOW, EVEN TODAY!
- JESUS HAS ALWAYS EXISTED and ALWAYS WILL BE!
Passage #6—Daniel, the one who chose to follow ONLY GOD proclaimed JESUS.
“I kept looking in the night visions,
(The Book of Daniel 7: 13-14 NASB)
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.”
Won’t you choose to believe in Jesus today?
