A walk through life toward eternity

Testify, Child of God, with Boldness—TESTIFY!

“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, . . .”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 16 NASB)

If we stopped reading the Scriptures right there, pausing at the end of verse sixteen, we who have received God’s gift of salvation have reason to praise & worship God forever.

Our spirit inside us hears the words given to us by the Holy Spirit—Himself—telling us, reminding us, assuring us of our place at the table of God.  We who believe, who have received, & who remain faithful—are children of God!

HALLELUJAH!

PRAISE GOD!

  • THANK YOU, LORD, FOR YOUR AMAZING GIFT OF SALVATION!
  • THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR CHOOSING TO DIE FOR US—FOR EACH ONE OF US INDIVIDUALLY, FOR ME!
  • THANK YOU—FOR RESURRECTING FOR NEW LIFE—SO WE TOO MAY LIVE FOREVERMORE WITHIN YOUR PRESENCE!

In the Bible, there are 594 chapters before Psalm 118 & 594 chapters after Psalm 118.  Statistically, there are 1,188 total chapters within The Holy Word of God.

Within the New Testament, there are 300 verses devoted to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • There is power in God’s Word!
  • There, a person discovers the Amazing Grace of God!
  • This singular, historical event—Jesus’ Resurrection to new life—totally affected the early followers of Jesus.

Does the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead still affect us today?

  • The way we speak.
  • The way we act.
  • The way we react.
  • The way we walk through our days.

The way we testify to others who remain lost, unsaved, and walking in darkness?

“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
and if children,
heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ,
if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
For the creation was subjected to futility,
not willingly,
but because of Him who subjected it, in hope
that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 16-21 NASB)

Sometimes Christians focus so much on the HOPE we have in Christ that we downplay or ignore the reality of suffering we experience in doing His will.

Pause to consider your own life.  Where do you suffer for Christ?

Suffering for Christ in our walk with Him—in our obedience to accomplish His will—brings us into a deep relationship with Jesus, our Savior.

We eagerly await “in hope” the time when God mends the brokenhearted.  Those who know us, who see our difficult times and the way we walk with God through those times, notice a difference about us, a uniqueness that is not like the rest of the world.

  • Did not God’s Word tell us to be “set apart”?
  • Does not the Bible tell us to “let our light shine for Him” for all the world to see?
  • Are we not called to “be salt and light” for Him?

God can use our present suffering for His Purpose & God allows our current suffering to be our sermon others will see.

“For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
And not only this, but also we ourselves,
having the first fruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons,
the redemption of our body.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 22-23 NASB)

Just maybe, the lost will turn in repentance to Jesus!

Is not that the epitome of why God allows us (His children) to remain here on earth once we have decided to follow Him?

Testify, Child of God, with Boldness—TESTIFY!

  • Make Jesus known to those who surround you.
  • Pray, asking for God to save five people you know, and I will do the same.
  • Do the work of a disciple.
  • Walk with God.
  • In obedience, accomplish the tasks He leads you to do.
  • Obey Him Immediately.
  • Study God’s Word with diligence, child of God.
  • Praise Him As You Go throughout your day.

Never forget—

For in hope we have been saved,
but hope that is seen is not hope;
for who hopes for what he already sees?

But if we hope for what we do not see,
with perseverance
we wait eagerly for it.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 24-25 NASB)
  • Nothing is too small to God.
  • He cares about all things.
  • Long before we were born, God planned where He would birth us and to which family unit he would place us.
  • God desires for each person alive to share an intimate relationship with Him.

May We TESTIFY—Child of God, with Boldness!

“Being then the children of God,
we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone,
an image formed by the art and thought of man.
Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance,
God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,
because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man
whom He has appointed,
having furnished proof to all men
by raising Him from the dead.”

(The Acts of the Apostles 17: 29-31 NASB)
