Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Are We Willing to be Molded by The Potter?

“The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying,
“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.”
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something on the wheel.
But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter;
so he remade it into another vessel,
as it pleased the potter to make.”

(The Book of Jeremiah 18: 1-4 NASB)

Inner work of our soul is painful.

Outer work of our person is painful.

Pain.  No one I know enjoys pain.  Just ask the person who just smashed his thumb with a hammer.  Just ask the person who suddenly turned his ankle playing a game of pick-up basketball.  Just ask the person who suffers with chronic pain.  Just ask the one who walks through the pain found in fighting against cancer.  Just ask, and we will find the truth:  No one enjoys the experience of pain.

Of late, I have become fascinated with the way the LORD walks us through situations, through life-circumstances, and even through painful seasons. I have always loved the story of “The Potter and The Clay,” but from a distance, you know, reading the narrative and thinking of another believer, another Christian, anyone who needs trimming, making, fashioning, or even re-making.  Nonetheless, the Word of God is for us all, every man, woman, boy, and girl.  When God speaks, He speaks to us all.

  • Let us peer into the Potter’s House.
  • Let us look through the window to see what the Potter is doing.
  • Let us see the clay there on the Potter’s wheel.
  • Let us see the Potter sitting at His wheel with His Hands upon the clay, molding the clay into a vessel, into an instrument worthy of the Potter.

“and there he was, making something on the wheel.”

  • May we see ourselves:  the clay.
  • May we see the Potter:  Almighty, Creator God.
  • May we see the trimming:  our sinful thoughts, our will more than God’s, & our wants—our give ‘ME’ DESIRES.

If you know Christ Jesus as your Savior, then you have an eternal promise the lost person does not have.  Simply put—this perspective on life makes the difference between LIFE & DEATH for each person.  Truly, you and I are blessed IF WE TRUST GOD!

In our seasons, in our time of pain, of trials, of drought, we can rest, remembering how Jesus Himself intercedes for us, making known our anguish to the Father.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THOUGHT TO PONDER!

SEIZE THIS IMAGE & DO NOT LET IT GO!

REMAIN HERE TODAY & THEN TOMORROW, RETURN TO THIS MIRACULOUS IMAGE!

The Potter is at work.  Let Him work.

God is remolding you & me right now.  Let Him refine us.

The Father’s Hands are fashioning us.  Let Him shape us.

God is changing us, preparing us—Allow Him to get us ready for Glory.

Be an active participant.  Let Him have His way in you.

  • It is a truth—God never wastes a time of sufferingbecause if He is allowing us to go through this season, then there is something He has for us to learn.

We are not perfect yet, but Praise God, we are closer this day than we have ever been!

  • It is also a truth—Life does not work out so simply—because times of drought will come & seasons of heat may descend upon us.

However, Praise the LORD—those who trust in God will survive and will bear fruit despite ‘come what may.’ Hallelujah & Amen!

The Bible speaks:  There is value in trusting and placing our confidence in God!

Seasons of heat, of drought, of pain, of anguish—will come, but even as they come, those who place their trust in the LORD will continue to thrive.

The Scriptures say:  Those who trust God are blessed!

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the
LORD
And whose trust is the LORD.
For he will be like a tree planted by
the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat
comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of
drought
Nor cease to yield fruit
.”
