If the world belonged 100% to us……where would we choose to live and who would we choose to live there with us?
Would we even narrow our choice to one location…..to call our home?    
&
Would we choose just one person to live with us?
OR
Would we hire several contractors to build several dwellings all over the world, allowing us to spend a few months at each location?
&
Would we fill our houses with four, ten, or twenty individuals?
Would we be content to live in several different locations, not calling a single dwelling “our home” and not giving a single address when the question arises on an application—-What is our home address?
Fill out any application, and we may never have more space than a line for the single street address where we currently live, followed by the one city, the one state, the one mailing code, and the one country (we call “our home address”).   
Beyond the ONE ADDRESS LINE, we are only offered one other line to fill out on most applications——-Our Previous Address.
That’s It.
Our Current Address.
&
Our Previous Address.

So, in reality, we could own property scattered over the entire world, and still, we must list our one, singular current “home address”    &    (maybe for reference) our one, singular “previous address.”
THAT’S IT:   ONLY ONE DWELLING TO NAME AS OUR “HOME”.
And we choose our home and we surround ourselves in our homes based upon specific reasons…….based upon the answers to these questions.

What do we like most (about our HOME)?
Do we like that we are surrounded by our favorite collected “things”?
Or…….
Do we like the weather found in a certain location?    
Or……
Do we choose our home because of the PERSON who resides with us in this one particular place?

As you may know, my daughter Sydney married sixteen months ago, and when she married, no longer did she live with me.    Instead, she lived with another person (her husband) the one she chose to marry.    Thirty-five years ago, I made the same decision……to move away from my parents and to live with my husband in our home. In most cultures, people marry and then move away from their parents’ homes and into their new homes.    When children make this decision, they can only live in ONE HOME at a time, even though they might be wealthy and own several different houses at one time.

Mankind can only live in ONE HOME at a time because of the PERSON who dwells with them in that one place.
Let me explain.
Since 1986, I have lived in five dwellings, but only ONE HOME.   I currently live in “my home,” EVEN THOUGH I CALLED EVERY PREVIOUS PLACE……”MY HOME.”
How is that possible?   How can we live in five dwellings, but only live in one Home?
It is because “our home” is NOT where we chose to live, but WHO we choose to live within us. Our Home Is…..
NOT because we are surrounded by our favorite things  &
NOT because of the weather  &
NOT because of the location of the dwelling. 
BUT by the ONE who resides within us!!!

Let me clarify.
Sydney no longer lives near me in America, and so her house in Wiesbaden is now where she sleeps, eats, and stores her things, but does that apartment in Germany provide her a “house” or a “home?”
She and I discussed this topic just the other day., and we know God’s Word provides the answers we seek, to all life-questions, so we discussed what God had to say about the matter.
In the book of Acts, the apostle Paul was preaching one day in a place called Mars Hill.   He addressed the topic—–our home & God’s home.
“Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.
The God who made the world and all things it in, since He is LORD of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;
nor is He served by human hands as though He needed any thing, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is is not far from each one of us;
for in Him we live and move and exist,….”    (Acts 17: 23b-28a).

So there…..in God’s Word……we find our truth.
God exists not in one singular temple or place that can be constructed by a man, but God exists in the heart of the man.
God does not ever need anything mankind can give Him, but God provides all of mankind’s needs.
God created all of mankind from one man—-Adam—-and God gives every person an appointed time & boundary to live.
God allows us to find Him because God is not bound by time and space…..GOD IS NEVER FAR FROM US BECAUSE HE IS WITHIN US!!!

God’s creation (all of mankind—every person, every nationality, every ethnicity…..EVERYONE.
LIVES.
MOVES.    &
EXISTS…..
ONLY IN HIM….
ONLY IN GOD.
May we take comfort in this fact…..our home…..our dwelling is only found within God’s presence,  no matter what address we list when asked—–What is your HOUSE address?
We are forevermore “AT HOME”………ONLY WITHIN GOD’S PRESENCE…..because
OUR HOME IS NOT A PLACE OR A LOCATION……
BUT THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST!!!
