A walk through life toward eternity

Singular SEED—“as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; . . .”

“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.
He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one,
“And to your seed,” that is Christ.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Galatians 3: 16 NASB)
  • Have you ever considered why God created two groups of people: His chosen race, the Jews and us, the Gentiles?
  • Do we live in a time and space when the naysayers of the world cry how God is finished with the Jewish nation, how God has turned His back on His people?
  • Have you heard or read about the theory (note the word) called Replacement Theory?

God would restore their relationship with Him, for the LORD loves!

  • The LORD invites through His love the very people He sent His only begotten Son to—the Jews.
  • The LORD also invites through His love the people He has grafted into His family—the Gentiles (the rest of us)—through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus.

There never was “multiple” seed but a single seed.

There never was a “multitude” of ways but The Way.

When God told Terah (Abram’s father) to leave Ur of the Chaldeans and journey to Haran, Terah obeyed God. They lived there throughout Terah’s lifetime. Then God spoke to Abram.

“Now the LORD said to Abram,
“Go forth from your country,
And from your relatives
And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you;
And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing;
. . .
Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possession which they had accumulated, and the persons which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canan; thus they came to the land of Canaan.”

(Genesis 12: 1-2 & 5 NASB)

The LORD called Abram to leave everything he knew, to take his family and possessions, and by faith, go to a land, to a place Abram did not know. Abram obeyed, going down into Egypt during a time of famine. On this side of the biblical narrative, it is so easy to see how the LORD was preparing The Way for people to come to Him by faith. However, in that season of time, and for years to come, through situations of hardships, of sinful decisions, and even within times of faithfulness to the LORD, Abram was used for GOD’S GREATER PURPOSE.

All along, God had a plan to save the world through faith in Jesus, the Son of God.

Since the beginning, the LORD was preparing the Way for a person (Jew and Gentile) to abandon their unbelief and place their faith in Christ alone. The people of God began as a single seed, God’s eternal plan.

“Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham [who was formerly known as Abram] a second time from heaven, and said,
“By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son,
[Isaac] your only son, indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.
In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,
because you have obeyed My voice.”

(Genesis 22: 15-18 NASB)

God has not made a plan B, nor has God decided to replace His original plan for a different one. All along, the LORD planned to make The Way available to ALL PEOPLES through the single SEED of Abraham. We will never become Jewish, for our heritage remains different, and the Jews will not be cast aside and replaced by another people group. ALL PEOPLE, are precious in God’s sight, and ALL PEOPLE are loved by God and are called to repent of their sins, to lay down their lives, and to turn and follow GOD’S LIGHT—CHRIST—WHOM GOD SENT INTO THIS DARK WORLD, TO SEEK AND SAVE THOSE WHO ARE LOST.

“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.
He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one,
“And to your seed,” that is Christ.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Galatians 3: 16 NASB)
