Our Faith Affects Everything We Do!
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?
(The Gospel According to Matthew 2: 2 NASB)
For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
“They came two years late,” some would decry, while others say, “They came just on time.”
The Magi were living and working in the east, studying the biblical records of the prophets, preparing for the coming Messiah. Two years after Joseph sought shelter in the stable, two years after the shepherds were abiding in the fields and heard a host of angels, and two years after baby Jesus was born—the Magi came “to worship Him.”
This morning, I read about a missionary who serves in an area where poverty ensues, where the people are so far removed from the world that they do not even have proper housing. Thus, they live underneath the trees, shaded by the branches to keep the beating sun from scalding their bodies. It is there, under the trees, where the unreached are reached.
- It is a truth, we can never be too far-gone, too far-removed, too sinful for Jesus Christ to save.
- Equally true is that we can never worship our Savior and Lord Jesus—enough!
That was true thousands of years ago when the Magi traveled a great distance from the east to worship Jesus.
That is true today when the missionaries travel to the unreached people living underneath the trees telling them about the Bible, about the way Jesus saved them, and about how Jesus can save them too.
It is at the moment of our salvation, we BELIEVE.
The apostle Paul wrote these words to young Timothy, sharing his testimony of what he (Paul) believed. Today, we too, need to know what we believe & we need to be ready to share with one who remains lost, who has not yet been reached.
“For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed;
(The Second Letter of Paul to Timothy 1: 12 NASB)
for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
“for I know whom I have believed”
Contentment flows from FAITH. May we see our lives in simple terms—
Everything comes from God.
- God is good &
- God’s works are good.
Our Faith Affects Everything We Do!
- My Life.
- My Family.
- My Career.
- My Thoughts.
- My Choices.
We cannot separate from it. Our Faith encompasses us, who we are, what we believe, how we walk through this life, and ultimately where we will be transported for our eternity.
OUR SAVIOR JESUS—OUR FATHER GOD—HIS HOLY SPIRIT—
Is able to save our souls & Is able to keep our souls, so when doubt arises (and it will—arise), give efficacy by allowing the intended purpose for which He promised to those who read & believe God’s Word. Remember that the ability to save our souls & the ability to keep our souls forevermore belongs to the LORD.
It is the LORD ONLY who is able to produce the intended result—eternity with HIM.
Let us Recall WHO IS KEEPING YOU & ME!
- HE who is the blessed.
- HE who is the only Sovereign.
- HE who is the only King.
- HE who is the Alpha.
- HE who is the Omega.
- HE who is the King of all kings.
- HE who is the LORD of all lords.
- HE is the One we adore, worship, & praise today & forevermore.
Who loves us?
IT IS HE, the LORD & SAVIOR & MESSIAH & REDEEMER!
IT IS HE, JESUS CHRIST, WHO LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US!
Therefore, when the Magi came, they were just in time & when a missionary shares Jesus with an unreached person under the shade of a tree, they are just in time because—It is at the exact moment of our salvation, we BELIEVE.
“May his name endure forever;
(The Psalms 72: 17-19 NASB)
May his name increase as long as the sun shines;
And let men bless themselves by him;
Let all nations call him blessed.
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel,
Who alone works wonders.
And blessed be His glorious name forever;
And may the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen, and Amen.”
Truly, Our Faith Affects Everything We Do—at Christmas & all the other 364 days of the year.
Beginning today, may we “come to worship Him.”
“For a child will be born to us, a son
(The Book of Isaiah 9: 6-7 NASB)
will be given to us;
And the government will rest on
His shoulders;
And His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of
His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with
justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of host will accomplish this.”
