Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

ONLY—HE—HIMSELF—CAN DO WHAT WE COULD NEVER DO!

“They were even more astonished and said to Him, ‘Then who can be saved?’
Looking at them, Jesus said,
‘With people it is impossible, but not with God;
for all things are possible with God.’ “

(Mark 10: 26-27 NASB)

What can man—NOT DO?

What can the LORD JESUS—ONLY HIMSELF—DO?

  1. If we go to our wallet or to our bank account—
  2. If we go to our ‘stash of money’ or look in all our coat pockets, looking—
  3. If we go to our jobs or even go to our monetary investments—

Wherever we go, truly it would not matter because there is ONE thing this side of Heaven the money just cannot buy.

Our money, Our funds, Our investments, Our worldly possessions, Our—nothing we own cannot buy:

  • A house—but not a ‘HOME.’
  • A box of food—but not an ‘APPETITE.’
  • A month of electricity—but not a ‘WARM & LOVING FAMILY.’
  • A purchase of medicine—but not ‘HEALTH.’
  • A bed—but not ‘SWEET REST.’
  • A diamond for a finger—but not ‘LOVE.’
  • A church building or a church list of charter names—but not ‘SALVATION.’

“Looking at them, Jesus said, ‘With people it is impossible, but not with God;
for all things are possible with God.‘ “

(Mark 10: 27 NASB)

ONLY—HE—HIMSELF—CAN DO WHAT WE COULD NEVER DO!

Maybe now is a time to pause & listen to a melody by Britt Nicole “Who YOU Say YOU Are.”

  • Let us recall what Jesus Christ requires of us.
  • May we never forget what our Savior did for all humanity.

Most definitely, may we remember Jesus’ commandment He Himself gave to God’s children.

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
You are My friends if you do what I command you.”

(John 15: 12-14 NASB)

I wonder this question about myself & about all God’s children:

Do we talk a good talk?

Do we talk a walk we do not walk?

  • Are we on our knees praying for the lost?
  • Are we on our knees asking God to lead us to Gospel conversations?
  • Are we walking throughout our days, seeing others as Jesus sees them?
  • Are we walking throughout our days, searching for ways we can be the hands & feet of our Savior with those we encounter?

Are we?

  • Are we seeking every chance we get to share our testimony?
  • Are we urgently and patiently waiting on the Lord Himself to change people’s hearts?
  • Are we praising our Lord, even in the wait?

Are we?

  • Are we wearing the label ‘CHRISTIAN,’ but then reacting to situations like we are not?
  • Are we wearing the t-shirt broadcasting ‘JESUS SAVES’ but then not really believing the emblazoned words?
  • Are we trusting the LORD in all seasons of life?

Are we?

Jesus has already done all that is required, all that is necessary upon Calvary’s cross.

  • We cannot add nor subtract a single iota from His Message to the lost!
  • We cannot do anything more than share the pure Gospel message!
  • We cannot separate Jesus from ourselves once God’s Holy Spirit filled us at the moment of our salvation!
  • We cannot separate Jesus’ Ministry from our lifestyle!

We cannot!

ONLY—HE—HIMSELF—CAN DO WHAT WE COULD NEVER DO!

  • No one is ‘unfit’ for God’s Amazing Grace offered through Jesus!

No one!

  • May we love others.
  • May we not focus upon ourselves & our wants.
  • May we serve others.
  • May we not focus upon ourselves & our selfish desires.
  • May we lay down our lives just as Jesus commands us to do.

May we remember every moment of every single day we breathe:  People are dying TODAY without Jesus!

Just as Jesus told the early church, the redeemed believers living in Jerusalem—

ONLY—HE—HIMSELF—CAN DO WHAT WE COULD NEVER DO!

SO, WE MUST DO WHAT—JESUS HIMSELF—CALLED US TO DO!

“To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days
and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.
Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem,

but to wait for what the Father had promised,
‘Which,’ He said, ‘you heard of from Me;
for John baptized with water,
but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’

So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, ‘Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?’
He said to them,

It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.’ “

(Acts of the Apostles 1: 3-8 NASB)
