The ‘DO’ We Must DO
If you are like me and have talked with people, then (like me) you have heard others say, “I don’t fear dying; I fear what comes next.”
OR
“I don’t fear dying because when we die, that’s it. ‘Kapoot’. The end. We return to the dirt.”
Clearly, it amazes me how those who are lost, who wander through this life, walking in darkness, believe part of the Bible but not ALL OF IT.
- Some believe there is a Higher One out there.
- Some believe there might be a God.
- Some believe we had to come from somewhere.
- Some believe that there could be a place called Heaven, and if so, they ‘hope’ they are ‘good enough’ to get in when they die.
It’s interesting that the lost, those who do not yet know God, do not ever speak about the place called Hell.
- Some speak of a man named Jesus.
- Some speak of the fact that there could be a God.
- Some speak of so much as their days turn into years, BUT they never seem to slow down enough in all their turning, all their going—to meet the Savior, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
“Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood,
(Hebrews 2: 14-15 NASB)
He Himself likewise also partook of the same,
that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death,
that is, the devil.
and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.”
- We don’t need to take a journey, to travel to a place of worship.
- We don’t need to offer a sacrifice to meet with our God.
- We don’t need to keep certain daily, weekly, or annual “rituals” to know God.
There are so many—Don’ts we Don’t have to do—BUT there is One Step We Must Take—if we are to be saved for eternity!
Yes, that is correct.
There is a ‘DO’ We Must DO, if we are to be saved for eternity!
“He Himself likewise also partook of the same, . . “
These two words: ‘He Himself’ have become my favorite words.
Jesus Himself.
The Son of God Himself.
The Messiah Himself.
The Savior Himself.
The Redeemer Himself.
The Alpha & the Omega Himself.
God Himself.
HE HIMSELF did what we could NEVER DO!
Jesus Himself—took on flesh and blood—for us.
The Son of God Himself—humbled Himself—for every single one of us.
The Messiah Himself—left the glory of Heaven—for each one of us.
The Savior Himself—laid down His life—for all of us.
The Redeemer Himself—stayed buried in the grave, showing the world he was dead—for all of us.
The Alpha & the Omega Himself—rose from death to new life & walked forth from the grave—for all of humanity.
God Himself—loved us—that much—that HE HIMSELF sent HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON—so we would not have to taste eternal death, BUT SO WE OURSELVES COULD WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE—IN HIM!
“But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;
and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith is also vain.
Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He [Himself] raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.
For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;
and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, [!]”

- Christ the first fruits,
- after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,
- then comes the end,
when He [Himself] hands over the kingdom to the God and Father,
when He [Himself] has abolished all rule and all authority and power.
For He [Himself] must reign until He [Himself] has put all His enemies under His feet.
The last enemy that will be abolished is death.”

EVERYTHING WE BELIEVE HINGES ON—THE DEATH ON THE CROSS, THE BURIAL, & THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS FROM THE GRAVE!
EVERYTHING!
- We don’t need to take a journey, to travel to a place of worship.
- We don’t need to offer a sacrifice to meet with our God.
- We don’t need to keep certain daily, weekly, or annual “rituals” to know God.
JESUS HIMSELF journeyed from heaven to earth for every single person!
Child of God—We are sent into this world to speak the Gospel to the lost.
Redeemed One—We are called to be His disciples.
Saved Child—We are to walk worthy—as children of light in this dark world.
God wants to be known by His people.
God wants to be with His people.
There are so many—Don’ts we Don’t have to do—BUT there is One Step We Must Take!
There are so many—Don’ts we Don’t have to do—BUT there is One Step of Faith—if we are to be saved for eternity!
There are so many—Don’ts we Don’t have to do—BUT there is One ‘DO’ We Must DO—if we are to know JESUS as LORD!
- Let us die daily to ourselves &
- Let us PRAY as we confess our sinful ways &
- Let us WALK in obedience to God &
- Let us LIVE daily through HIM!
WHY?
BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY WHO ARE DYING LOST!
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it,
from whose presence earth and heaven fled away,
and no place was found for them.
And I saw the dead,
the great and the small,
standing before the throne,
and books were opened;
and another book was opened, which is the book of life;
and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books,
according to their deeds.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it,
and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them;
and they were judged,
every one of them according to their deeds.
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
This is the second death, the lake of fire.
And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life,
he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
