A walk through life toward eternity

We Are to Be Ready:  Answers to the Questions

When I arose from my slumber, there were two responses to read:  one via e-mail & one via WhatsApp messaging.  Both replies were responses to my questions:  one question asked two weeks ago & one question asked last evening.

Questions deserve Answers.

Answers Provide Truth to the Questions Asked.

Both King David & Saint Peter had something to say about the Answers to the Question of Right Living that should permeate the lives of God’s children.

Let us open up our hearts as we open our Bibles to read & apply God’s Truth to our lives.

“Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.
Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.”

(1 Peter 3: 21-22 & 4: 1-2 NASB)

When a person gives his heart to the Lord, the first step taken is to tell someone about his transformation from death to life, from blindness to sight.  If this transformation has occurred while in a church building, the person will usually walk the aisle and share his decision with first the pastor and then the church congregation.  The next step to come after the proclamation is baptism, as Peter describes ”—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, . . .” 1 Peter 3: 21 NASB)

When we are baptized, we show the world how our earthly flesh is buried as we now walk in newness of life through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

That’s why Resurrection Sunday—EASTER—is vital for Christians.

Without the Resurrection of Jesus from the grave,

  • There is no Salvation—apart from Jesus!
  • There is no Faith—apart from God!
  • There is only empty belief—without the Grace of God!

THE RESURRECTION of JESUS from the GRAVE CHANGES E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

Therefore, as we walk throughout the rest of our earthly life, we must be ready.

Are We Ready?

Are We Ready to provide the Answers to the Questions others ask us as we walk throughout our earthly days?

God has ALL the Answers to EVERY Question A Person Could Ever Ask!

Because

God’s Word has ALL the Answers to EVERY Question A Person Could Ever Voice!

Saint Peter explained to us how we are to live as we go.  Let’s read again to be reminded—

“so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.”

(1 Peter 4: 2 NASB)

How are we doing with that?

How are we doing this day?

Are we living for self or for God?

Are we seeking God’s will for our today?

Then tomorrow, will we find ourselves seeking God again for that day as well?

We are to live well for the LORD.

We are to walk within the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

We are to be led by the Holy Spirit of God.

We are to display God’s Salvation to those who surround us &

We are to ask the questions and be ready with the answers God provides, as we share Jesus with the world.

How are we doing?

Did we walk in the flesh yesterday, focused more upon human lusts?

OR

Did we walk in the flesh yesterday, focused more upon living for the will of God?

Micah Tyler sings a melody that spoke to me, reminding me of God’s Truth—God’s Mercies are “New Today.”

  • Thank You, God, for saving me when I was fifteen, &
  • Thank You, God, for saving me yesterday, &
  • Thank You, God, for promising to save me this new day—

For God’s Salvation is an on-going, day-by-day, forevermore Saving Grace!

“Your mercies are new today/

I can start over/

[Thank You, God]

Your mercies  are New Today!”

“New Today.” by Micah Tyler

We are God’s!

We belong to Him!

WEWho have believed in Jesus, & Who have accepted God’s free offer of Salvation, & Who are continually residing within the on-going confession of our sins—ARE GOD’S!

&

We will be in GOD’S PRESENCE forever. Amazingly, in GOD’S PRESENCE began at the moment of our salvation because the Holy Spirit of God Resides in us!

We find this Truth recorded in God’s Word which the Holy Spirit gave to King David, given so we could remember as we walk through our lives.

  • Let us read together.
  • Let us bow in forgiveness for the sins we have committed.
  • Let us remember how God’s Mercies are new every day.
  • Let us recall the Salvation we have received.

Let us remember WHOSE WE ARE FOREVERMORE!

  • Let us walk worthy of our calling!
  • Let us SEEK GOD’S WILL FOR OUR TODAY!
  • Let us BE READY with the ANSWERS the HOLY SPIRIT PROVIDES to the QUESTIONS people will ask us about Jesus, those GOD WILL PLACE IN OUR PATHS!
  • Let us be the CHURCH, & the BRIDE OF CHRIST, & the REDEEMED!

“I have set the LORD
continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad
and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will dwell securely.
For You will not abandon
my soul to Sheol;
You will not allow Your Holy
One to undergo decay

You will make know to
me the way of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are
pleasures forever.”

(Psalm 16: 8-11 NASB)
