YES, THE GOSPEL MESSAGE—IT IS THE TRUTH!
Maybe you know that there are four gospels in the Holy Word of God, and maybe you are reading and do not know or have not ever read one or any of the four gospels. Since the time of my childhood, my teachers have proclaimed how the four Gospels are the “good news of Jesus.” In my daily life, I can always use “good news;” quite possibly, you too.
Thus, it is important that we look into the Bible, where the “Good” news of God exists, that which dispels all untruth and points toward the GREATNESS of GOD!
What has captured my focus in reading within the Bible today is the way Jesus calls people to Him. Go with me to the fourth of the four Gospels to see—THE TRUTH!
“Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,
(John 1: 35-42a NASB)
and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”
And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?”
He said to them, “Come, and you will see.”
So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day; it was about the tenth hour. [about 4pm]
One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).
He brought to him to Jesus. . . .”
Now go with me to the third of the four Gospels to see—THE TRUTH!
“Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him [around Jesus the Messiah] and listening to the Word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret; [the Sea of Galilee]
(Luke 5: 1-5 & 27-28 NASB)
and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.
And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, [as in Simon Peter] and asked him to put out a little distance from the land. And He sat down and continued teaching the crowds from the boat.
Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”
Simon responded and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets. . . .
After that [after Jesus performed two miracles of healing] He went out and looked at a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax office, and He said to him, “Follow Me.”
And he left everything behind [Levi did] and got up and began following Him.”
Even after two passages, go with me again to the second Gospel to see—THE TRUTH!
“As He was going along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.
(Mark 1: 16-20 NASB)
And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will have you become fishers of people.” [fishers of men]
Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
And going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, and went away to follow Him.”
Finally, go with me this last time to the first of the four Gospels to see—THE TRUTH!
“Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter; and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
(Matthew 4: 18-22 NASB)
And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”
Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them.
Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.”

JESUS IS THE EMBODIMENT OF THE GOSPEL!
What has the Messiah been asking of us?
How will the Savior have us begin this day?
What is Jesus asking of us today?
- Maybe Jesus is asking us to go across the aisle, down the hallway, into another profession, or even to go into a foreign land.
- Maybe Jesus is asking us to accept, believe, and confess that HE IS THE MESSIAH!
- Maybe Jesus is asking us to lay aside whatever sin tangles us up, and to deny ourselves, and truly begin following Him.
Won’t we follow Him!
At Once!
No Hesitation!
Immediately!
Won’t we lay down our fears, our frustrations, our personal nets, our lives, our pre-conceived duties, our pre-set plans & won’t we TRULY & FULLY FOLLOW JESUS!
- We cannot know the future, but God does!
- We can place our faith & our trust in the ONE who can see everything everywhere!
We can FULLY TRUST GOD!
YES, We Can!
We can SIMPLY DO whatever Jesus asks us to do or to lay aside, &
We can begin walking with Him this day!
It really is that simple.
YES, THE BIBLE—IT IS THE GOSPEL—THE TRUTH!
THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL MESSAGE—JESUS TRULY IS THE SAVIOR!
So, Maybe today—
Is the day each of us will turn toward Jesus in acceptance & repentance, fully trusting Him as our Savior!
Or even, quite possibly, today might be—
The day those of us who already believe will step closer toward the Savior’s side and begin to REALLY do His will as we walk more closely with Him!
