Ponder These Truths about the LORD GOD—

The Father compassionate to all humanity.

He moves in slowness in anger to every person alive, abounding in love, even for the vilest offender.

The LORD really hears “all” prayers simultaneously.

He answers every single one in His perfect timing.

Yes, the Father lifts the needy, raises the poor, and knows His children by name.

God’s nature always helps, humbles, and promises.

The Father guards the feet of His saints, giving His servants strength in all situations.

Should all believers faithfully recall how the LORD is greater than any challenge they will ever face, greater than any challenge, stronger than the individual’s weakness, promising to always be their help?

Yesterday, my sister spoke of a position within the organization where she works, and her description fascinated me. She works for a government funded institution that loans funding to small business “new starts,” to those individuals who have a desire to own their own business. When we live in a society where a majority businesses fail within the first year of operation, this institution strives to ensure that they don’t (fail), helping them with funding, marketing support, branding, and sometimes education in the skills they may lack. One “help” is the presence of the small business owner’s story. An intriguing concept: Composing the individual’s story, describing how his passion took root, growing into a lovely idea, and after (much) arduous work, evolved into a possible small business plan, and with the right financial backing, became one able to succeed.

The Story Tells It All.

Then early today, I read an article about a sixty-year-old nurse who became a foreign missionary, telling how she always knew deep inside her being that God was calling her. She spoke of the way she tamped down that calling, focusing her attention on her work as a nurse, raising a family, and living a life. All the while, the LORD patiently waited. Within the article, the missionary spoke of her aged mother who recently passed, after years under the nurse’s care, and then she quoted Bible theologian John Piper, saying, “Christians do not retire. God does a repurposing.” It came down to obedience, to following when the LORD speaks to you. Age never ‘ages’ anyone out of being useful to God’s purposes.

Her Story Tells It All.

GOD’S TIMING IS ALWAYS PERFECT.

The LORD is gracious and merciful, using each Christian for His purposes, and like the prophet Isaiah, believers only need to raise their hands and say, “Hear am I, Send me!” (The Book of Isaiah 6: 8b NASB)

Every person has ‘a story,’ and followers of Jesus are no different. If Christians are seeking to follow the LORD, then they will see how He is constantly calling them, daily asking them the obey.

Therefore, the question becomes not one of “IF” but one of “WHEN.”

Truly, the LORD sees our past, our future, and even our present.

Surely, the FATHER hears our Yes and our NO.

Undoubtedly, the SPIRIT knows our heart.

Most assuredly, the SAVIOR recalls how He laid down His life so we could come in faith to receive His Amazing Grace.

• What are you and I listening to if we are not listening to the LORD?
• Who are we following if we are not obediently walking with GOD?
• When will we lay our “no” aside and place our “YES” upon the FATHER’S ALTAR?
