A walk through life toward eternity

There Once Was A Girl….Who Came To Believe

There once was a teenage girl, and she just wanted to fit into the crowd. She sat by the wall, painted white like the rest of the classrooms, the room situated near the back staircase, the stairway seldom used.
There once was a teenage girl, and she sat in the classroom, absorbing every morsel, hungry for truth, hungry for evidence proving the truth.  Before her stood her teacher (Lanny);  he taught others too, but she knew he taught her because he challenged her, and revealed to her the truth found in God’s Word.
There once was a teenage girl, and she was young, just 15, so young in spirituality, so young in physical age too, eager to grow up, eager to know more, to learn, to go out and to conquer her world.  She attended Sunday School class, had from the time God formed her inside her mother’s  womb.    Maybe she began learning then (as a child), but she knew she learned as a teen……now that she believed, and she never stopped learning God’s truth, day-by-day-by-day as time rolled into years.
There once was a teenage girl, and she knew a boy; she sat beside him in this classroom (with the white walls, the one near the back stairway).  The boy, he was kind; he was small in stature like her; and he was fun, but he was Not like her in belief (not like the “new” her), and she knew that was wrong, to date someone not a believer, to become serious with a boy Not like her, but she was young in her spiritual growth.  Maybe her actions would sway him to believe. Could she stand like that, separated, unyielding, standing up in GOD’S TRUTH, as she continually asked herself—-“Should I date, maybe marry the boy who did not believe like me?” Her teacher said it was not good to do so, showed her in God’s Word where the Scripture said it was not good to be yoked to an unbeliever; BUT THEN ONE DAY, God brought His conviction to the boy, and the boy believed; and like her, he too was won to Christ.
There once was a teenage girl, and she thought she may grow up, be called to the mission field, leave her home in Eubank, tell others, tell the world about her salvation and the love of Jehovah God, and show the world how God is the Almighty, sharing how Jesus saved her soul.
There once was a teenage girl, and she grew up to finish high school, to attend college, to work and to marry, to return back to college again, to work in a new career, to teach teenagers like she once was, to share her English classroom with teens for almost 30 years, and to coach young girls to run as she hopefully helped them see the LORD.

Yes, There once was a teenage girl (me) who grew up, who grew older, and who left her seventeen-year-old teenagers and her beloved PC behind, PC—-the only place she wanted to be, and she followed where her LORD led. Some struggled to see the why. She often struggled too, but as she left the school and people she loved, God led others to see how God calls, how God reveals to all His children to take up their cross daily and to follow Him. She left that place which she loved, and they can too………even when we each may face fear and be afraid to step out, BUT WE CAN.
There once was a teenage girl, and she grew up in age and in spirituality, and she began to teach others in her own Sunday School rooms, to teach (just as her teacher taught her), teens and adults, who were so like her (unsure at first, but then believing), to study and to dig deep into God’s Word, to learn what God would have her say, to write the lessons He provided, and to daily share her faith.
There once was a teenage girl, and she wanted, she hoped, and she yearned to reach the world for Jesus, to share her faith with others, to lead them to meet Jehovah God.  Her teacher taught her when she was once a young girl, and his teaching, when she was only 15, a teenage girl——opened her eyes to Jesus, to see how God changes EVERYTHING!!!
There once was a teenage girl, who remains so grateful for her teacher.  Yes, so thankful that her teacher cared enough about her salvation to teach her.
There once was a teenage girl, and she has a name…..Nancy…..a believer, a Christian, a child of Most Holy God.

This girl wants to tell the world about her Savior, to tell how Jesus made her whole.

There once was a teenage girl—–ME—–& she wants the world to know how thankful she is for her Sunday School teacher, for her godly parents and grandparents, for all the ones who taught her over the years, and for the ways they led her to come to know God. They challenged her to study and to dig into God’s Word, and today, she is ever grateful.
There once was a teenage girl…………
Thank You, God.
Yes, thank You, GOD, for saving this teenage girl.

The Bible speaks God’s TRUTH, “Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”
(Hebrews 13:  7-8).

A beautiful melody played as I wrote this blog, a melody that spoke to me, one that reminds us how our life is not ours to live, but GOD’S to lead.    Listen if you have the opportunity—-“Let Go, Let God” by Jack Cassidy.
May we today share Jesus with the world.
May we share how God is unchanging.
May we lead others to meet our Savior & LORD.
May we remember those who led us, who taught us, and may reach out to them to say, “Thank you for teaching me.”
May we be faithful in our conduct, in our words, in our thoughts, and in our reactions.
May we imitate the faith of our early teachers, and may we tell the world about Jesus and why we believe.
Yes, today, may we tell all the world—-“Jesus Christ is the same [He is unchanging]
Yesterday and
Today and
Forever”
(Hebrews 13:  7-8).

    1. Yes, so amazing. Last night at church, I shared this message with my teacher because I want him to know the powerful way he touched my life.
