Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What do we LOVE about God?

“Then God said, “Let there be lights in the
expanse of the heavens and separate the day
from the night, and they shall serve as signs
and for seasons, and for days and years;
and they shall serve as lights in the
expanse of the heavens to give light on the
Earth,”
and it was so.”

(Genesis 1: 14-15 NASB)

“Then God said, . . . and it was so.”

May we pause our minds right there.  Dwell there.  Stay.  Sit in silence and consider the vastness of God.  Clearly, before we were, God was!  Even before the earth and heavens were present, God was there.  He did not need us but wanted us.  Have we asked ourselves—WHY?  That question may be the first passing thought that begins the process into the intimate relationship God desires with each one of us.  However, even in that single worded question, in that thought, God’s Holy Spirit is present because He placed it there within our being.

Day 1.  That’s today.  A brand-new year we are privileged to walk into as we arise.  What are the first thoughts and questions that fill our minds?

What do we need to change about our bodies?

What do we need to alter within our lives?

What changes must we make?

Even, what do we regret from last night or from last year?

So many thoughts.

So many questions fill our mind on this Day #1 of a totally new year, but the only question, the only thought that REALLY MATTERS is this!

What do we LOVE about God?

“LORD, You have searched
me and known me.
You know when I sit down
and when I get up;
You understand my thought
from far away.
You scrutinize my path
and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word
on my tongue,
Behold, LORD, You know it all.
You have encircled me
behind and in front,
And placed Your hand upon me.”

(Psalm 139: 1-5 NASB)

When we look behind, God is there.

Then, we look ahead into the future, and there You are.

LORD, You are right here with me, right now in this place.

Your presence faithfully sustains me.

When we come into a new day, there You are.

When we lie down at the end of that same day, there, LORD, You are.

Oh, LORD, how wonderful to consider, how it is You who guides us through our days.

And how wonderful to remember, how it is You who keeps us through our nights.

You LORD guide our thoughts, words, and steps, but only if we follow You.

Thank You God for searching us and for knowing us, even at the moment of our conception.

Thank You—most Holy Father.

Thank You, for sending Your only Son.

Thank You, LORD, for loving us so much, for wanting us to come to know You.

Thank You, LORD, for not leaving us in our condemnation, but for making us a way to escape it through Your love.

LORD, oh LORD, how majestic is Your name!

What do we LOVE about God?

E—V—E—R—Y—T—H—I—N—G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Savior said it like this.  May we see Jesus’ words and sense how much God wants us to know Him.

“If you keep My commandments, you
will remain in My love;  just as I have kept
My Father’s commandments and remain in
His love.
These things I have spoken to you so
that My joy may be in you, and that your joy
may be made full.”

(John 15: 10-11 NASB)

May we enjoy God.

May we find our satisfaction in Him.

May we seek the great pleasure in knowing the LORD.

May we see the way God has spoken everything (including us) into existence, &

May we find joy.

We are made for God’s good pleasure.

May we never forget, even as we enter this first day of a shiny, new year.

We are to LOVE GOD with every fiber of our being.

May we remember how everything would NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT GOD!

May we remember how we would NEVER EVEN EXIST—WITHOUT GOD!

We are to LOVE GOD with every fiber of our being!

Let us never forget!

Let us raise our hands high above our heads;   &

Let us shout;

Let us worship Him,  &

Let us sing our praises to the KING of kings!
