Not a Prostitute Faith, but ONE FLESH WITH OUR SAVIOR!
“Do you not know that your bodies are parts of Christ? Shall I then take away the parts of Christ and make them parts of a prostitute? Far from it!
(1 Corinthians 6: 15-17 NASB)
Or do you not know the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.”
But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.”
Do we believe in God?
Do we believe in God’s Son?
Do we trust God’s promise?
Do we trust Jesus, the Messiah, and the Savior of the world?
Do we accept God’s free offer of salvation?
Do we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, giving all of ourselves to Him?
Do we?
Mind. Body. Soul. Strength.
Which part of our body belongs to God & Which part have we decided we must keep for just ourselves?
As a child of God—No part of our being is simply our own, separate from Christ; therefore, all parts of our bodies, of our minds, of our strength, and of our soul belongs to Him. Once we belong, once we are a child of God, we are “one” with Jesus, now and forevermore. So, let us not try to balance ourselves with a part (of our being) going this way and a part (of our being) going that way—you know, a balancing act. We are not to “balance” ourselves with Jesus; We are to give Jesus ALL PARTS of OUR BEING!
Then, one day when we arrive in heaven, on the other side, to our eternity, we will hear the roar of applause as the saints of heaven applaud our arrival—home.
- The holy place of God is not some brick-and-mortar building, one built with the hands of men.
- The holy place of God is God’s temple.
- The holy place of God is His inner sanctuary, a place where He resides.
- The holy place of God is where His Holy Spirit lives.
What does it mean when we say, “We believe in Jesus!” Here is a list of questions the world may claim this statement means:
- Does it mean we believe in the FACTS of the Bible?
- Does it mean we believe in God?
- Does it mean we believe we should be “good” people as we live in this world?
- Does it mean we believe we should go to church where we can hang out with others who are like us?
- Does it mean we trust Jesus as our Savior, the One Who died for our sins? & Who was raised for our justification? & the One Who is our ONLY HOPE of HEAVEN?
We must be sincere in our FAITH because it is recorded in the book of James that even demons believe that God exists!
- Heart-level belief is more than merely thinking about God.
- Heart-level belief is more than just talking about spiritual things.
To BELIEVE—means that we TRUST to the core of our being—that Jesus is Lord.
To BELIEVE—means that we KNOW to the core of our being—that Jesus was crucified for our sin.
To BELIEVE—means that we BELONG to the core of our being—to Jesus who was raised up to new life & who also has also raised us up to new life.
To say, “We believe,” means we totally TRUST wherever GOD leads!
What kind of faith do we have?
Do we prostitute ourselves to other gods?
Let us faithfully decide to be—ONE FLESH WITH OUR SAVIOR—WITH ALMIGHTY GOD!
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he left, not knowing where he was going.”
(Hebrews 11: 8 NASB)
Bible theologian Charles H. Spurgeon once wrote: “It is not great faith, but true faith, that saves, and the salvation lies not in the faith, but in the Christ in whom faith trusts.”
What is God asking us to let go of today?
What is God asking us to forego as we trust Him more?
Even though we may not know exactly where God is taking us, like Abram, we can walk by faith when we are called to go.
Although we may not know 100% how the details will unfold, we can step out to go, just as Abram, who left the only home he ever knew to step out for the Promised Land.
Faith is taking that first step.
- Walking by FAITH is stepping, even when we cannot see the whole staircase, the entire path, or even the far-off place where our LORD is leading us to go.
- Walking by FAITH is proclaiming, “Yes, LORD” to whatever, to wherever, to however HE wants us to go!
- Walking by FAITH means that we step forward with God, even when we can only see HIM!
- Walking by FAITH means that we walk with God every step of the journey ahead!
- Walking by FAITH means that we know that God knows where He is taking us, & that is enough!
- Walking by FAITH means that we are daily—laying ALL parts of our being at the feet of Jesus as a Living Sacrifice.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place . . . not knowing where he was going.”
(Hebrews 11: 8 NASB)
