The BRIDE of CHRIST JESUS
God’s Word speaks of everything we need—every day, in every way!
Thank You Almighty God.
God places people in our lives.
Sometimes, those people have stepped into our lives so we can minister to their needs.
Sometimes, those people have stepped into our lives so they can minister to ours.
There is a key, a truth we should see with the eyes of our faith.
We need one another.
God knew this from the beginning at the creation of the first man Adam. He knew (God did) that it was not good for Adam to be alone, so he gave Adam a great sleep (yes, a great, big nap for him to enjoy) while God performed a miracle. God knew all along that Adam needed a wife, someone to walk with, to talk with, to share intimacy with as their years together unfolded. God always knew what was needed, & God still knows today how we need others.
Now, maybe you are reading these words and thinking all sorts of thoughts:
- My husband died, and now as a widow, I am content to stay as I am.
- My husband is non-existent, and as a single woman, I am waiting, maybe dating, and maybe seeking the prospect of knowing a man as my husband some future day.
- My husband is not a faithful man, but he is someone who threw away our marriage when he listened to the devil and chased after something else.
- My husband is currently part of my life, and because I cannot have two husbands, how does this apply to me?
Well, God’s Word speaks of everything we need—every day, in every way!
Despite where we might reside within our “earthly marital status,” God in His Amazing Goodness grants us another marriage, another more important vow, a promise that is ours forevermore.
May we open our hearts and read what the LORD GOD our FATHER speaks to us today.
“So then, those who had received his word were baptized; [the word of God spoken by the apostle Peter] and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
(Acts of the Apostles 2: 41-47 NASB)
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe, and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
And all the believers were together and had all things in common;
and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need.
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
This is a picture of the bride of Christ!
This is a photograph of the first church!
This is an image of the way we are to be!
This is us; This reveals the first gathering of believers, listening to a preacher’s sermon, staying after church for a fellowship meal, singing hymns of praise and worship, praying together, studying God’s Word in small groups, lifting their hands in praise for the wonderful gift of God’s salvation.
Don’t we want to attend that church?!
We do.
Every single day, if we are given the opportunity to open our eyes, to breathe, and to arise from our beds, we will dress for our day and then step outside. When we do, we go to church. If we are blessed with a Christian spouse and children who know the Lord as Savior, then we are blessed to share worship with our families and with other believers in the world.
WE WORSHIP.
WE PRAISE OUR FATHER GOD.
WE MEET IN FELLOWSHIP.
WE STUDY GOD’S WORD.
WE CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER.
WE PRAY TOGETHER.
WE SERVE ONE ANOTHER.
WE MEET TOGETHER IN ONE ANOTHER’S HOMES.
WE SIT TOGETHER, AND WE SHARE OUR MEALS.
WE HUG.
WE CRY TOGETHER.
WE SEEK TO HELP OUR CHURCH FAMILY WHEN THEY HAVE A NEED.
WE WITNESS TOGETHER, VISITING WITH THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET ACCEPTED JESUS IN FAITH.
WE TESTIFY—TOGETHER.
WE DO EVERYTHING—TOGETHER.
WE ARE THE BRIDE of CHRIST JESUS!
WE ARE HIS & HE IS OUR BRIDEGROOM!
HALLELUJAH! THANK YOU GOD FOR SAVING OUR SOULS, FOR SAVING MY SOUL.
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you of these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
(Revelation 22: 16-17 NASB)
The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the water of life without cost.”
We are the BRIDE of CHRIST JESUS!
Let us be on-mission this day—His mission—this new day as we walk in His will.
JESUS is our BRIDEGROOM!
Let us joyfully share in fellowship with God’s family—this new day as we walk in His will.
Let us remember our vow we made to God on the day of our marriage, our moment of salvation.
The Question: Do you promise to Love, Honor, Cherish, and Obey?
“I do. I will.”
Let us stay faithful to our vow to our Lord Jesus Christ.
“but thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 15: 57 NASB)
