Why a Child of God MUST Read God’s Word!
After a long day of classes, I entered my last class of the evening, and I knew our task (and that was good since I was the teacher). We were there to revise our argument essays. Never a simple process.
So many writers located in so many topics of thought.
So many writers skilled in so many writing strengths and even some weaknesses.
So many writers filled with their own agenda of questions to ask.
LORD, how will we ever do all that we need to do within our two-hour window we commonly call—CLASS? That’s when I needed to do something necessary to help my students revise and edit their working drafts. I needed to write my own essay.
Now, my daily schedule of classes left no spare time to sit and write. I was given two and half hours of driving time, so I could write there, and I have written several essays that way over the years (or at least the “jist” of the essay notes). Yesterday’s drive time did not provide me enough energy or desire to write as I drove to and from the two different campuses, so I knew I needed to do the only remaining choice—I must compose a verbal essay within class AS my students sat with their drafts in-hand. What topic must I write, LORD, I questioned in my head? & Wherever will I find time to research?
Then I knew the only argument topic that I needed to share: Why a child of God MUST read the Word of God every day of his life?
I also knew the only reference source that I needed for my essay: My Bible.

My Conclusion—Why a child of God MUST read the Word of God every day of his life?
“The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.
(Psalm 19: 9b-11 NASB)
They [all 66 books within God’s Word] are more desirable than gold; yes, than much pure gold;
Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, Your servant is warned by them;
In keeping them there is great reward.”
The Bible is trustworthy.
The Bible teachings bring great joy.
The Bible helps us not lose our bearing as we walk within this earthly world of fog of social media and human opinion.
The Bible is not something I hurriedly pick up and “grab” a verse or two in order to check off my daily box on my to-do list.
The Bible is God’s Holy Word—VALID & RELIABLE TRUTH!
Therefore, the real question becomes more of a statement—Why would a child of God NOT read the Word of God every day of his life!
(Psalm 119: 11 NASB)
“I have treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You.”
