A walk through life toward eternity

Be Aware of the Battle Raging & Fight within the Power of God’s Might

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 6:12 NASB)
  • Is it possible to fall into the crosshairs of Lucifer?
  • Can a holy one, called by God, fall into temptation and be snared by Satan?
  • Should believers who have received the high calling of becoming the children of God and heirs with Christ be on guard to the evil ways of the devil?

We might be here for now—but someday, we will walk the streets of gold—when we get where we are going.

“Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts
which wage war against the soul.
Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day

[on the day of Christ’s second coming when He comes to judge]
of visitation”

(The First Letter of Peter 2: 11-12 NASB)

In doing a deep dive into Lucifer and his fall from paradise, I found myself walking through the Old Testament, in The Book of Ezekiel, where I encountered the truth about what led to Lucifer’s fall.

First, let us be reminded of key TRUTHS:

GOD IS SELF-EXISTENT, HAVING NO BEGINNING AND NO END.

GOD IS HOLY, AND GOD DOES NOT CREATE ANYTHING CONTRARY TO HIS NATURE.

GOD CREATED EVERYTHING, INCLUDING SPIRITUAL BEINGS, AND CALLED EVERYTHING HE CREATED “VERY GOOD.”  SEE GENENSIS, CHAPTER 1 AND 2.

  • God did NOT create sin.
  • God is NOT the author of sin.
  • God did NOT make Satan sinful.

Second, let us examine key details about God’s created beings:

  • Satan is a created being, just as you and me.
  • The fallen angels are created beings, just as we, too, are the created beings of God.

“You were the anointed cherub who covers,
And I placed you there.
You were on the holy mountain of God;
You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
You were blameless in your ways
From the day you were created
Until unrighteousness was found in you.”

(The Book of Ezekiel 28: 14-15 NASB)

The Bible does not tell us “how” Satan became sinful, but the Word of God tells us that Satan was not always sinful. He chose his own doing. Thus, Satan chose his own path because of the arrogance of pride felt deep within him. Satan wanted to be “like” God rather than submit to God as he should. Satan decided to “be his own god” instead of bowing down to THE ONE TRUE GOD.

The Bible also tells us that the fallen angels fell from paradise, following Lucifer.

“And there was war in heaven,
Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon.
The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough,
and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.
And the great dragon was thrown down,
the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world;
he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

(The Revelation to John 12: 7-9 NASB)

Thus, we must be aware of the battle raging.

  • We cannot allow the devil to have a toehold within our minds.
  • We cannot give our children to the devil.
  • We must fight for TRUTH and for what is RIGHT in God’s eyes.
  • We must guard against allowing any deadly sins to remain within our bodies.
  • We can surrender our will, our prideful thinking, our arrogance to our Creator.
  • Each person born has a decision: Will you turn from your sin and give your heart to Jesus Christ?
  • All people have a daily decision: Whom will you choose to follow, to serve?   &
  • Will we stand in solidarity, remining faithful to the study of God’s Holy Word, praying for others and for ourselves, down on our knees?  &
  • Will we encourage our brothers and sisters-in-Christ while it’s still day?

Therefore, we must fight within the power of God’s Might.

After the great battle in heaven, there is a beautiful truth spoken by God.

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them.
Woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath,
knowing that he has only a short time.”

(The Revelation to John 12: 10-12 NASB)

The end is coming.

It is a promise of Almighty God.

One day those who have believed in the Savior will fly away and will gather around the throne of God.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, remembering that this world is not our home; we are merely passing through.

Troubles and struggles and trials and tribulations may come, but we are able to Fight within the POWER of GOD’S MIGHT.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Put on the full armor of God,
so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 6:10-11 NASB)

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
and these whom He predestined, He also called;
and these whom He called, He also justified;
and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things?
If God is for us, who is against us?”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 29-31 NASB)

Certainly—NOT—Satan!

  • Let us all be aware of the spiritual battle that rages around us, as Satan, in his hatred wants our souls.
  • May we stand strong & fight within the Power of God’s Might.
