Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Praising God Daily—Are We?

Each day we arise from our slumber (if we have been given another day to live), and as we crawl from our place of rest, we have two choices—Praise God—OR—Don’t.  That’s correct.  Two choices, and the decision has a long-lasting effect upon the remainder of this single day we have been given to live.

Today, let’s take a moment to see the differences.

  1. Praising God brings us into His presence.
  2. Praising God brings us worship of God.
  3. Praising God allows our hearts to be grateful for all that God has accomplished within the world, within our families, and within our lives.
  4. Praising God deepens our relationship with our LORD.
  5. Praising God changes our conversations with God.
  6. Praising God creates beauty within the atmosphere, and we sense God right there WITH US, as we praise Him.
  7. Praising God allows us to really FEEL God.

The Bible speaks of the importance of praising God.  SEE WITH ME.

“But I am afflicted and in pain;

May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high.

I will praise the name of God with song

And magnify Him with thanksgiving.”

(Psalm 69: 29-30)

Whenever we jump right into our day (without pausing to share time with God), we invite the devil to have his way throughout our day because he prowls around, “seeking whom he may devour.” Constantly, the devil searches for two kinds of individuals:  those who do not belong to God, who he continually deceives in order to keep & those who do belong to God, who he strives to destroy their reputation, their testimony, their marriage, their life, their faith, and their walk with God.

Let us NOT let the devil have his way!

Let’s shout that a bit louder.

LET US NOT ALLOW THE DEVIL TO HAVE HIS WAY IN OUR LIVES TODAY!

Today is a brand-new day.  If you are reading these words, then maybe you are drinking your morning drink of choice, breaking your nightly fast and enjoying some necessary food, pondering the outcome of this single day, and running (what seems to be) a million thoughts through your mind—at the same time.  Each morning, we arise from our sleep, think of all the many things we must DO today, consider all the things we may need to UN-DO from our screw-ups yesterday, and prepare ourselves to walk boldly into this single day.  Why don’t we first—STOP IN OUR EARTHLY FOCUS & SPEND TIME PRAISING GOD—for the numerous ways He has blessed us?!

Let us shout that a bit louder.

LET US PAUSE IN OUR MORNING & THROUGHOUT OUR DAY.

LET US CONTINUALLY PRAISE THE LORD!

YES, LET US.

The difference between earth-focused sight and heaven-focused sight is GOD.

Whether our earthly situations change is not the most important point to ponder.  It’s whether our God-focus changes.  Are we focused upon only what we can see, feel, do, and experience—here on earth?  OR—Are we focused upon what we cannot always see with our eyes, what God is busy doing within the lives of others, within the world surrounding us, and what He is doing within us—as we Praise Him?!!!

The Bible tells us why we are to love God.  Truly, we are to love the LORD, the CREATOR, and the SAVIOR.  William Carey said this when speaking of God—“Expect great things from God;  attempt great things for God!”  This means, we can approach our God in prayer in peace and confidence and boldness, knowing & expecting that God will answer (and maybe even in such an unexpected way).  God can accomplish the spiritual work we ask Him to do as we pray, and He can do so much—Unexpectedly More.  God can accomplish the earthly concerns we ask Him to do as we pray, and He can do so much—Infinitely More! Praise the LORD!

God’s power can accomplish more than we can ever verbalize, fantasize, or ponder!  GOD’S POWER CAN DO MIGHTILY—SO MUCH MORE!

PRAISE GOD—TODAY.

PRAISE GOD—TOMORROW.

PRAISE GOD—EVERY TOMORROW AFTER TOMORROW.

And soon, we will have strung together a passel of days praising God, so many days, that we cannot even remember when we did not.  Yes, let us not allow the devil to have his way in our day, but let us Praise Our Lord—audibly, heart-interiorly, & within everything we say or do today.

“I love the LORD, because He hears

My voice and my supplications.

Because He has inclined His ear to me,

Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.”

(Psalm 116: 1-2)

“Praise the LORD, all nations;

Laud Him, all peoples!

For His lovingkindness is great toward us,

And the truth of the LORD is everlasting,

Praise the LORD!”

(Psalm 117: 1-2)
