Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

The END—It is a most wonderful place—To Find God.

Maybe we have reached the end, and thank God, the end has come.

Could it be that we have strived for a decade, for a full ten years to FINALLY REACH THE END!

Hallelujah!  The end, here we come.

People have asked, “What”s next?” and we have thought, “Who cares what comes next.  The end is a beautiful place to be, & whatever comes next will be BRAND NEW, a new start of something new.

I love the end.

I love to reach the end of grading a stack of essays.

I love to reach the end of a task.

I love the feeling of accomplishment, knowing that the work that I have done has accomplished some goal deep inside me.

Maybe you, too, love to reach the END.

A whimsical END—The end of a lollipop without once biting to crunch the hard outer candy-coating.

A wonderful END—The end of a meal without once having wished the food would have been more satisfactory.

A satisfying END—The end of a class without once thinking, I wished I had worked harder, smarter.

A well-deserved END—The end of a career, without once wishing we had chosen a better path.

A sufficient END—The end of a marriage, without once wishing for more love from our spouse.

The END.

The END is a beautiful place to be.

Yes, the END—It is a most wonderful place—To Find God.

There is a most wonderful book of the Bible, actually positioned in the middle of God’s Word to us—the book of Psalms.  In this book, there is a chapter, number 136, that reveals the importance of REPETITION and how REPETITION calms the soul.  SEE WITH ME.

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up;

You understand my thought from afar.

You scrutinize my path and my lying down,

And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.

Even before there is a word on my tongue,

Behold, O LORD, You know it all.

You have enclosed me behind and before,

And laid Your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;

It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Or where can I flee from Your presence?”

(Psalm 139: 1-8)
