When We See Jesus Face-to-Face
When we imagine seeing Jesus face-to-face,——-
What questions will we ask?
How will we react in our emotions?
Will we fall at Jesus’ feet and just cling?
Will we raise up our hands and shout praises with a mouth filled with great joy?
Will we just drop our head and weep?
When we imagine seeing Jesus face-to-face, what will be the first thing we do?
How will we react? & What thoughts will fill our head? &
What words will we speak? Will we even be able to speak?
Will we only be able to fall down at the feet of Jesus and cry out in utter joy? Will we only hear the heavenly host singing praises to the King of Kings?
Will we be able to see—-Really SEE Jesus our Savior face-to-face? Will we even have eyes like we now know, to see, really see?
Will we walk through the gates of heaven, gazing to the left and right as we pass through? Or will we only seek the face of JESUS.
When we see Jesus our Savior face-to-face, what will we do, say, & think?
For those who Accept the truth in faith that Jesus Christ has come to save our souls; For those who Believe Him through faith, trusting Jesus as LORD; & For those who Confess their sins committed against God, who ask God for His forgiveness—–Then our Day—-When we will see Jesus face-to-face, Yes, that “going home to heaven day” will be SUCH a Happy Day.
Yes, one day, we will go home.
There’s a beautiful hymn we sang many times that proclaims,
“Some bright morning when this life is over
I’ll fly away
To that home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away. I’ll fly away, oh glory
I’ll fly away, in the morning
When I die, Hallelujah by and by
I’ll fly away.” (originally written by Albert Brumley in 1929)
Several times in my life, I have experienced one of life’s greatest pleasures—-To be in the room, next to the bed, watching someone I love leave earth and go home to be with Jesus. Each time, this one who was leaving earth had already accepted, already believed, and already confessed Christ as LORD. In their final moments upon their death beds, there had not been words of confession spoken. No.
No Words. No Movement. No Turmoil. No Pain. Only Sweet Release. Such a Beautiful Image still remains within my mind. Such a glorious memory to carry in my heart every day. And, Yes, Such a wonderful future of hope because their death was not a final goodbye, but an au revoir——Until We Meet Again—-ONLY BECAUSE EACH PERSON INTIMATELY KNEW JESUS.
At their moment of death, their decision & their eternal destination was already determined.
Each time, as I shared their final, earth-held moments, one thought permeated my mind—–In just a little while, this person I love will see Jesus face-to-face.
Face-to-Face With Jesus.
Can we even imagine what that will be like?
Truly, I cannot even fathom how beautiful that moment will be!!!
Today, I can only type this one word———Hallelujah!!!!!!
Will those standing at our own deathbeds know we (too) are going home to see Jesus?
Have we told them so? Are we living so they can see we are ready to go?
Every time I have been present at the deathbed of someone I have been given to love, the “going home” moments have absolutely become my favorite life-moments. YES. Never would I give away those life-moments. They were such beautiful moments. Each time someone I love left this world and went home to be with Jesus, amazingly, the departure has always occurred during the morning. I am not a doctor, so I do not know why, but this I know to be true,……….there were tears of sorrow at their departure, BUT ALSO THERE WERE TEARS OF JOY….SUCH AMAZING, GREAT JOY!!!
In those moments, GOD BROUGHT such amazing great JOY, PEACE, HAPPINESS, & REJOICING—right there—in that life-moment and in that room. GOD DID.
GOD brought a peace-filled morning, in the dawning of that new day, as the one loved went home to see Jesus face-to-face.
Let us ponder for a moment.
Before we knew Jesus as LORD and Savior,….
We thought we knew our path,…
We seemed focused upon our future,…
We saw our plans for our days,…&
We knew where we had been in our past.
All of our life-moments on this earth carried such great importance.
THEN WE MET JESUS & THAT MOMENT CHANGED EVERYTHING!!!
No longer did we walk our life path alone. Every second of every day was now shared with Jesus. We now enjoyed an intimacy that other believers spoke of, but intimacy we did not understand UNTIL we fully trusted in Jesus.
No longer did we see our future here on earth (only). Sure, we still lived on earth, so we went to college, went to work, or went to the military….BUT our future here on earth took second place in relation to the eternal future we now shared with God our Father.
No longer did we look to our day’s plan as only our own and no longer did our past only mean our childhood at our home. Now, our days were focused upon living within God’s will as we walked along & Thank God, our past was not in the past because our past was when we walked alone……..totally without Jesus as our Savior and LORD.
Salvation offers us such a beautiful life. Our Path to Walk is Clear. Our Future is Secure. Our Day is Shared. God’s Peace fills us and overflows onto every part of our being……onto our daily moments, even onto our going home to heaven moment.
There are two beautiful melodies—one sung by Van Morrison & one sung by the band Fireflight. Both melodies are titled “Brand New Day.” Although one band sang rock during the 60s & 70s and one band sings present day, both bands sing of the love found in a brand new day. Maybe you will find time to enjoy these two melodies today.
Yes, there is amazing beauty found in a believer’s going home day.
There is a beautiful passage in the Bible, in Paul’s first letter to the believers living in Corinth. Paul writes about the joy we encounter when we step into heaven. “For we know in part and we prophecy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love abide these three; but the greatest of all is love” (1 Corinthians 13: 9-13).
When we imagine seeing Jesus face-to-face—–We See Pure Love Given to Us Through His Gift of Salvation.
Hallelujah & Amen. YES. Hallelujah & Amen. Thank You God for Your Amazing Love.
what a beautiful moment at the time of death for a believer.
Oh yes, the step from earth into eternity within the presence of God—-a beautiful moment for all believers.
