There Is a Journey Each of Us Need to Walk
There is a journey each of us need to walk. We are afforded the choices—
HOW to walk,
WHEN to take our steps,
WHAT we will do with our hands as we journey,
WHY we choose to walk with Him –OR–WHY we choose to Not, remaining lost alone, &
WHERE we journey TO most assuredly is determined by WHO walks beside us.
Each of these points is held & remains secure within a Promise given to us from ages ago, when God first gave the prophets wisdom to write about His promised Messiah. Now we stand on the other side of the cross, looking back at the cross as our guidepost, even as we step forward in faith toward God’s will. His cross continually points us in the right direction as we journey forward, stepping toward our home.
There is a journey each of us need to walk.
- Individually, we choose the direction of our eternity.
- Individually, we choose to see the truth.
- Individually, we choose to hide our eyes, TO TURN AWAY–OR–TO BELIEVE.
- Individually, it is a choice we are each given to make.
The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY brings this realization of HIMSELF, and when His Spirit speaks to our soul; We either choose to turn toward HIM–OR–We choose to turn away from His voice.
So often, I have written: Never believe the words of this blog; believe instead the Word of the most Holy God given to us through His Word, the Holy Bible.
Job tells us in the Old Testament the way God came to him. Job’s testimony is good—to read, to consider, and maybe to compare to our own (testimony).
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily, and my ear received a whisper of it.
(Job 4: 12-17)
Amid disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, dread came upon me, and trembling, and made all my bones shake.
Then a spirit [a breath] passed by my face; the hair of my flesh bristled up.
It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance; a form was before my eyes; there was silence, then I heard a voice:
Can mankind be just before God?
Can a man be pure before his Maker?”
There is a journey each of us need to walk. We are each afforded the choices—HOW, WHEN, IF, WHERE, & WHO. We choose to walk with–OR–without God as we journey toward our eternity.
Job gave us a strong example. He writes–
“Oh that my words were written!
(Job 19:24-24)
Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
That with an iron stylus and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!”
His life-example provided us an example, & scary as it seems, one start of a life-season he walked within his life-journey began one night as he slept (through a dream).
- I imagine that Job awoke from that vision covered in his own sweat.
- I imagine he was hesitant of speaking about his dream over breakfast the next day, but instead remained quiet as he rolled the vision over and over in his brain for quite some time.
- I imagine Job could see the vision within His mind even as he walked throughout the day with his eyes wide open. &
- I imagine Job was hesitant to lay down his head the next night when darkness filled the night.
God is just. That means God’s judgment is right.
God judges ALL by the choice each person makes—No Exception!
God gave Job wisdom to write his story so we could learn from Job’s life-journey.
“Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
(Job 5: 17-18)
For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His hands also heal.”
There is a journey each of us need to walk—a faith-journey.
We are ALL afforded the individual choice of Who will hold our hand as we travel toward our eternity.
Help me God (help each one of us God) to walk with You, with our eyes wide open, choosing You as our companion to journey with as we take life-steps to our forever home.
We write our testimony daily (as Job did too).
We write our life-story as we live.
We create our tombstone engraving as we go throughout every day.
Job did; we do too!
Can we like Job speak these words—
“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
(Job 19: 25-27)
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another,
My heart faints with me!”
