Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Let Us Say, “Yes LORD. Here Am I. Send Me. Use Me. Today”

“I just don’t want to.
And you can’t make me.”
Yes, if we have lived enough years topsoil and have a few battle scars or grey hairs, THEN we might sarcastically reply, “Yeah right.  Famous last words.”
Think about this topic for a brief moment—The Topic of Doing What We Just Do Not Want To Do.

1.  If we are just not feeling it, then we might just be tempted to skip going to work today.
2.  If we are just overwhelmed with life, then we might just be tempted to not visit or talk with anyone, preferring to isolate ourselves from the world today instead.
3.  If we have pushed the alarm snooze for the third time already, then we might just have slept our way through the 15 minutes of God-time we had intended to spend with Him this morning.
4.  If we arise from our slumber, only to remember the fragile state of a relationship, then we might just be tempted to hide away from that other person, hopeful that time and space will make the hurt go away, even though we know the truth (it will not).
5.  If we have heard God’s moving, felt it deep in our being, knowing that we should speak to a co-worker, a friend, a family member, or even a stranger on the street, then we might be tempted to let go of God’s Holy Spirit speaking to our being, telling us that we should—speak the Good News, the Greatest News EVER to that person.

Yet, we remember our words we screamed aloud in our minds—“I just don’t want to & surely you won’t, surely you can’t make me.”

WHO ARE WE TALKING TO WHEN THOSE WORDS FEEL OUR MINDS?
WHO ARE WE TALKING TO WHEN GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT STIRS WITHIN OUR INNER BEING TOWARD AN ACTION WE MUST TAKE?
WHO?

I am pulling back my feet—-way back—-because those questions just crawled up into my lap, stepping all over my feet as they climbed, and now they sit squarely upon my lap, heavy.

The TRUTH of GOD.

  • WHAT do we do with it?
  • WHERE must we take it?
  • HOW often must we speak it.
  • WHO will be left behind if we are silent, if we do not take our duty serious?
  • WHEN are we to go into our Jerusalem? Our Samaria? Our Judea? Or into the Uttermost parts of the world? (Acts 1:8).

WHY SHOULD WE EVEN CARE?
God entered my heart in the fall season of my fifteenth year of life.  Thank you mom, dad, Lanny, grandma, grandpa, Bro. Jim, Emma Lois, and on and on and on.  People who thought of my lost state, my blindness, my unbelief, and who answered the call of God to witness to me.  They each saw those previous questions and said “Yes, LORD.”
Do not believe me;  BELIEVE the WORD of GOD!!!
“Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it” (1 Corinthians 12: 27).
And again…..God’s Word.

“Now there was a disciple [of God] at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.”  And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”
And the LORD said to him,
“Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay hands on him, so that he might regain his sight.”
But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem;  and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”
But the LORD said to him
[to Ananias], “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;  for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
So Ananias departed and entered the house,…”
[the house where Saul (the one who was blind) was staying]

(Acts 9: 10-17)

Ananias did exactly as the LORD led him to do!!!!
Ananias knew WHAT he was to do, and Ananias knew HOW he must serve another (Saul) as Ananias placed his hands exactly WHERE the LORD instructed.
Ananias knew WHEN to go and did not hesitate any longer but went.
Ananias knew exactly WHERE to find Saul, WHERE to go and on the exact house door to knock.
Ananias knew WHY he must go to Saul.

NOTHING GOD GIVES US TO DO IS FOR NAUGHT!!!

That TRUTH—Today, I need to hear those words again.

NOTHING GOD GIVES US TO DO IS FOR NAUGHT!!!

Ananias knew WHO he served as LORD.  Today, I ask myself that same question. The way we SEE the word within our mind and heart is SO IMPORTANT.

Is Father God—-lord—or—Lord—or—LORD!!!

The capitalization of God’s name proves so much (when we consider His Preeminence in our lives).

There is only one worthwhile investment we can EVER make with the time we have been given to live.
We Belong to God.
We are HIS, and He Is Our Heavenly Father!!
We are His instruments with His hands as He performs heart surgery….every day.

God’s plan for His Salvation is so simple—-one person at a time.

Thank You God for allowing us to live, to be a part of Your plan for this day.
Thank You God for placing Your will in our hearts as we step into this brand-new day.

One day we will go home to heaven, and won’t it be wonderful when that precious soul arrives in heaven too!!! (the one God led us to speak to)

May we be useful instruments within God’s hands today, and tomorrow, and the next tomorrow, and for the next 1,000 tomorrows—until the day Jesus walks us home to our eternal home.
