A walk through life toward eternity

TRUST….In The Middle….Where Darkness & Light….Are Alike to Him

I love windows.
I love windows unadorned.
I love windows that are not covered with darkening curtains.
I love windows, opened up, allowing the sunshine to shine inside the room.
I love windows, opened up, allowing the sunset to linger in the room as God’s sun slips down into His horizon.
I love the fact that I can stand in the middle of my living room, and see outside in three directions (West, East, & South) and how from the middle, I can see the sunrise—-&—-then hours later, when in the middle, I can see God’s sunset.
I truly love….seeing the beauty of both….. standing perfectly still…..in the middle of my Living Room.
Now why?
Yes, now why does that fact even matter?
Yes, Why would one even desire to watch God raise His sun at the start of a new day?  &
Then, Why would one even desire to watch God set His sun at the end of a spent day?

The answer:
God sees into every corner of our heart.
God understands exactly where we are standing at this precise moment of time…..JUST AS……God knew our last moment of time, the second, the moment we just breathed, just exhaled…..JUST AS……God already knows the next breath our bodies are preparing to inhale.

God Knows.

And since God knows, we can take comfort in His knowing.
He will guide us…..Second by Second;  Moment by Moment; Breath by Breath; Day by Day; Sunrise to Sunset & throughout the rest of our lives……God will.

God knows our past tears and joys.
God knows our future hopes.
God does; yes, God knows.
God knows our deepest sadness.
God knows our exuberant joy.
God knows our prayer requests, even the words we cannot even utter aloud.
God knows our apprehensions.
God knows our reasoning behind our falling tears.
God knows our wants, our wishes, our fears, and our desires.
God knows our deepest hunger.  &
God knows our sins.
God knows us…..each…..individually.
God does……
Yes, God knows us intimately and individually because…..
He sees us before the new day begins (at His sunrise)   &
He see us at our sunset (even BEFORE His sunset comes) because God sees EVERYTHING…..past—-present—-future.

WE CAN TAKE COMFORT IN THIS FACT.

The psalmist David, wrote a psalm, one that reminds us how God sees us, our “informed substance” in our mother’s womb and how in God’s book all of our days “were ordained” even before there is the first day (Psalm 139: 16).
Yes, inspired by God, David wrote to remind and encourage us today with these words—

“If I say,  ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,’
Even the darkness is not dark to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You.”

(Psalm 139: 11-12)

David writes to remind us how God dwells everywhere—-inside our past, with us in our present, & there, beyond us in our future days, months, and years.
God IS   &  God DOES.
Just as God knew Hannah’s cry when she cried out in anguish,

“O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant,…then I will…”  (1 Samuel 1:11).

God will guide us through our best seasons, through our worst seasons, and through our seasons when we are totally numb. Yes God will guide us as we stand in the middle of His presence.
God is the ONLY ONE who can fill us, who can align us, who can keep us, and who can take us wherever He allows us to be.

Yes God.  Guide us, as we stand in the middle of Your presence.

GOD IS. GOD DOES. & GOD KNOWS.

There is a beautiful melody titled “You’ve Always Been” by the band Unspoken, and as we listen to this melody, we hear the lyric—
“Everything I needed, LORD/You’ve always been/Oh, yes You’ve had/Thank You, Jesus/You’ve always been.”

Where are we standing today?
Are we standing with Jesus, inside the middle of His will for our lives?
Are we standing outside His will?
Are we standing and trusting God at all?
Do we even know God?
Do we even trust God with our yesterday, with our tomorrow, with our today, or with our eternity.
Hannah trusted God.
David trusted God.
Let me.  Let you.  Let us.
Let us stand with God and see how “Even the darkness is not dark to You [to God],
And the night is as bright as the day
[to God].
[&]
Darkness and light are alike to You
[to God]”  (Psalm 139:11-12).

Today, Let us Remember; Let us Trust in the TRUTH—-God knows us.
Today, Let us seek to know God.
Today, Let us seek to know God MORE than we even knew God yesterday.
Yes, Today, Let us place our trust in the God who KNOWS EVERYTHING.

  • God, we ask You to guide us through our best seasons, through our worst seasons, and through our seasons when we are totally numb.
  • Yes, God guide us—as we stand in the middle of Your presence.
  • God—We recognize You are the ONLY One who can fill us.
  • God—We know You are the ONLY One who can align us.
  • God, You keep us, as You take us from sunrise and sunset.
  • Guide us, as we stand in the middle of Your presence of Your will.
  • Help us See You, God, the LIGHT of the World.
