A walk through life toward eternity

Our Victory in Christ

“What then shall we say to these things?
If God is for us, who is against us?”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 31 NASB)

God is guiding your life for your good.

  • Do you believe it?

God is working in ways that you cannot see—yet.

  • Do you sense His hand on your life?

God is concerned about you and has not forgotten you, nor has God lost sight of what you are facing.

  • Do you trust Him?

God sees what you are going through, and God cares.

  • Are you walking faithfully with Him, keeping your eyes fixed on Him?

“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all,
how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 32 NASB)

Inheritance is a word that most families know, especially if the heritage of the family includes property: houses, land, possessions, monetary funds, and heirlooms. In the world where we live, it is commonplace to value silver and gold as most precious. In the Bible, we see the narrative of the lame man, one who had been handicapped since birth. Each day, others placed this man at the temple gate, where he could beg. This was his normal situation in life—until the day Peter and John walked toward the temple. On that day, when faced with a lifetime of living as one with a handicap, the man cried out (as usual), never expecting to receive that which he could never have hoped for—healing—and walked away from this experience, leaping and giving praise to God for His goodness.

“When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple,
he began asking to receive alms.
But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, “Look at us!”
And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you:
In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!”
And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up;
and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.
With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.”

(The Acts of the Apostles 3: 3-8 NASB)

The “healing of Jesus” for one’s soul is far more precious than any other inheritance.  Nevertheless, oftentimes, the world values wealth over faith. Sometimes, the inheritance the world deems more important is that which can be placed in banks, stocks, or property. Also, because of this travesty, the separation of a family inheritance has the power to cause division within the family. How unfortunate it is that some families will throw away loved ones (sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, and uncles) for something tangible, for something that is not living or breathing, for ‘property.’   Yet this is the way it is in a few families, but thank goodness, not for all earthly families.

Furthermore, this is NEVER true in God’s family, where brothers and sisters-in-Christ receive the exact heritage of what individually deserve.

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.
So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything,
but God who causes the growth.
Now he who plants and he who waters are one;
but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

(The First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 3: 6-9 NASB)

Thus, the necessary questions we need to contemplate today are:

  • What are we allowing God to build through our earthly lives?
  • Are we faithfully walking daily within our Lord’s will?
  • Do we sense where God is at work, and are we joining Him in His work?
  • Do we have our eyes fixed on Jesus?
  • Have we faithful with all the Lord has provided?
  • Are we (you and I) planting and watering within the place God has placed us?

It is true; even if we are going through a tough time, God calls us to trust and believe God. Through every season, we are to allow God to carry us, to see us through. In this vapor of a life that we get to live, we cannot selfishly exist for our own good, but for those God places into our path. We are to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and tell others about our Savior.

  • This is the ONLY INHERITANCE worth anything—testifying about Jesus.
  • This is the ONLY INHERITANCE we are to seek—seeing people saved.
  • This is the ONLY INHERITANCE we are to store—the treasures of heaven.

As the Bible says, we are to work for Jesus, planting, cultivating, and watering, and when we (the saints of God) go home to HEAVEN and spend eternity there, we will finally see face-to-face—OUR ULTIMATE INHERITANCE—JESUS!
