“I know that You can do all things, . . .”
“I know that You can do all things,
(The Book of Job 42:2 NASB)
And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.”
- Have you ever prayed: “LORD, please do something” and then taken matters in your own hands?
- Have you experienced the heaviness of life-situations and wondered: God, why?
- Is it possible for a believer to trust the LORD: So intimately, personally, and worshipfully, allowing God to move in your life and do things His way?
If a single word could be applied to the LORD, then it would be the word ‘love,’ for the Bible tells us, “for God is love.” (The First Letter of John 4:8b). So, in knowing that truth, we must consider what a heavenly Father would NOT do to humanity.
- God would NOT give His creation more than they could manage WITHOUT giving Himself to turn to when they feel overwhelmed.
- God would NOT require His people to do tasks that are more than they can master WITHOUT reminding them that HE will go with them and never leave them.
- God would NOT ask us to believe in His Love WITHOUT sending His Only Son—JESUS—to die on the cross for our sins and raise to new life for our eternity with Him.
God would NOT because HE most definitely loves His creation too much. Jesus said—
“For God so loved the world,
(The Gospel According to John 3:16 NASB)
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have eternal life.”
There is nothing we can do to make God love us more, and there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. Allow that statement to settle all over you. Dwell there. Remain there as you walk through your ‘today.’
Nowhere does LOVE such as this exist.
- Only a loving Father could ever love the ones He has created.
- Only a loving God could ever love a messed-up group of people as humanity (us–mankind).
- Only a loving Savior could ever love a sinner such as us and want to save us and bring us home to heaven, to a place He has gone to prepare for us.
Only Jehovah God could ever love us like this, asking:
- Admit to God that you are a sinner and repent, from your sin.
- Believe by faith that Jesus died on the cross to take the penalty of your sin and receive Jesus as God’s Son. Accept His gift of salvation, His forgiveness from sin.
- Confess our faith in Jesus Cross as Savior, Lord of lords, and King of kings.
So, just as we can know that the Bible proclaims the love of God, we can also recall that God hears our prayers and answers them. When life overwhelms us, we can pray to Him and receive His peace, realizing that as we place our trust in Him to move in His timing, in His way, and His love—HE WILL.
Believers, our only response is to:
“Sing praises to God, sing praises;
(The Psalms 47: 6-8 NASB)
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with a skillful psalm.
God reigns over the nations,
God sits on His holy throne.”
