A walk through life toward eternity

TRULY, WONDERFULLY TRUTHFUL WORDS!

People often say, “You can take that to the bank,” meaning the words just heard are true words.  This can be applied to almost all components of daily life.  So, it makes us ask:  If the words spoken by people we know can be counted upon to be true, what about the RED WORDS that are found in the Word of God?  Are the words Jesus spoke true?  Are the words recorded as the actual words of Christ valid?

YES & Yes, the statements Jesus made—were true claims THEN and still today—are valid claims.  Truly, Jesus said much, but for a moment, focus on this single verse recorded by the apostle John during a time when Jesus was teaching His disciples.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life,
and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

(The Gospel According to John 5: 24 NASB)

Jesus was obedient to the voice of the Father seven days a week.  His allegiance was to God, and He listened to God’s direction Above All.  This obedience was costly, and this obedience enraged the Jewish authority present in that day, when Jesus, the Son of God, walked in the flesh on earth.

The once unbeliever but now believer, C. S. Lewis wrote:  “Christ says, ‘Give Me all.  I don’t want so much of your time, your money, your work.  I want You. . .  Hand over the whole self (natural) . . . I will give your new self instead.’ “

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, . . . [boldness used for emphasis]

Jesus came to earth as the fullness of God.  The Bible tells us so.  The Jewish leaders were hyper-focused on religion, while Jesus was wholly focused on the voice of the Father.  I wonder:  Do we sometimes say:  “I can’t because _______________________.”?  Should we not say instead:  “Lord, help me dare to obey You leading, even if I am persecuted for doing Your will.”?

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, . . . [boldness used for emphasis]

  • May we lean into our relationship with the Father.
  • May we know His voice better.

A believer, a follower of Jesus—a Christian—displays a pattern of life change, knowing the more the person obeys God, the more assurance he has that he belongs to God.

Christ Jesus gives us this statement because Jesus is God, because He raises the dead, and because He is going to judge (when He comes).  We must be ready, and We must testify so others will be ready.

Therefore, the question the world asks:  Are the words Jesus spoke so many thousands of years ago, the words recorded in the Bible, valid and true?

WHO JESUS IS MAKES THESE WORDS RECORDED IN ‘RED’ TRULY, WONDERFULLY TRUTHFUL WORDS!

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life,
and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
[boldness used for emphasis]

(The Gospel According to John 5: 24 NASB)
