The Natural and Spiritual Man’s Work
- If Jesus returned today, would He find His children working? Would the building of His Kingdom be the focus of the day? Should it be?
- If the Lord descended from heaven, would the believers be found diligent in their witness? Would their testimony be found upon their lips?
- Are the followers of Jesus living as “earthy” human beings—or—Are the followers living as spirit-filled, “spiritual” people?
Yes, these are the questions that come to mind.
There are certain truths that are irrefutable:
- The earthy body that begins to die the day one is born will be raised in glory IF the person has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- The perishable being that one is born into, the natural body, can also receive the spiritual body when the body is raised from the dead.
- Like the first man, Adam, every person is born as a natural man with the innate desire to know the living, risen Lord Jesus Christ.
The apostle Paul’s words to the believers living in Corinth:
“The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.
(The 1st Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 15: 47-52 NASB)
As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly,
so also are those who are heavenly.
Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;
nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
Undeniable Truths:
- There is resurrection from the dead; Christ Jesus made it possible.
- The perishable body of mankind can be made imperishable, and Jesus is the way.
Vacation Bible School is coming, and there are many children who live a stone throw away from the campus of the church. Will you be in attendance? Will you lend a helping hand? & Will you be present and available when a child inquires: What does it mean to be a Christian?
Sunday School occurs weekly, and many choose to attend, for we never outgrow the need to learn more about the risen Lord. Are you involved with a small group that meets each Sunday morning? Should you be? Have you learned all that you need to know about Jesus?
Children’s Church meets during Sunday morning worship. Do your children and grandchildren attend? Are you involved with the lessons, with the play, or with the adult presence required when several small children are inside one room?
Witnessing to those who ask—Is that part of your DNA?
Testifying to your neighbor—Is that who you are when asked?
These are some of the questions believers can continually ask themselves. Jesus is Coming! He has promised that He would, and we only need to read the Scriptures to be reminded.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
(The 1st Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 15: 58 NASB)
