“press on to know the LORD”
How amazing is the amazing grace of God?
How sweet is the sound of God’s grace?
How thankful are we for God’s amazing grace, for making us able to see, and for making us found?
How wonderful is it that God’s grace makes us not fear?
Why do we who believe in Jesus—believe in Jesus?
What do we say to hostile ones, to indifferent ones, to those who openly refuse and reject Jesus?
In the Word of God, we read and we marvel at the prophet Hosea’s words given to him by the Spirit.
“So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD.
(The Book of Hosea 6: 3 NASB)
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And he will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.”
The world of individuals who surround us give so many reasons for not believing. They say:
I do not believe because I love my sin and want to remain walking in it. Now, they may not openly verbalize those words, but—
The Lord Jesus Christ spoke, telling us how people’s actions reveal WHAT THEY LOVE MOST.
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world,
(The Gospel According to John 3: 19-20 NASB)
and the men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
For everyone who does evil hates the Light,
and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”
Jesus spoke of God’s amazing grace, a love so great that He sent His only Son to the world, to give eternal life to all who believe in His Son Jesus. With God’s amazing grace also comes God’s just judgment, that which Jesus spoke of, that which he will exact (will give) to those when He comes again, to those who do not believe in Him.
Yes, the world of individuals who surround us give so many reasons for not believing. They say:
I do not believe because my ultimate goal is to please mankind. The Spirit of Jesus calls for them to step into the boat of belief, to lay down their fear, to take up the cross of Jesus and follow Him. They refuse. Now, again, they may not openly verbalize those words, but they strive for approval, for the applause, for what man can give them, worried more about their reputation. They care far too much for what others may think about them and how others may react IF they listened to the Holy Spirit and gave their hearts to Jesus. So, they remain trapped within their love of self, refusing to NOT believe in Jesus, the Son of God.
Jesus Christ spoke, telling us how people’s actions reveal WHO THEY LOVE MOST.
“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me;
(The Gospel According to John 5: 43-44 NASB)
if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and
you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?”
Yes, the world of individuals who surround us give so many reasons for not believing, but what about those who say they believe, who have in fact given their hearts to Jesus but—
WHO DO NOT FOLLOW JESUS IN OBEDIENCE TO DO HIS WILL?
The Lord Jesus Christ speaks today to the Christian, reminding them how their actions reveal
WHO THEY LOVE MOST.
“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light,
(The Gospel According to John 3: 21 NASB)
so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
The children of God are His sheep who hear and obey the voice of the Good Shepherd. They hear, they obey, and they follow His leading. These individuals are sometimes called to forsake family relationships, to leave careers, to risk everything to have Jesus. It’s not about “doing” works to be accepted; rather it’s about the relationship they have with the Lord Jesus Christ. They hear & they follow.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me;
(The Gospel According to John 10: 27-30 NASB)
and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish;
and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one.”
The Father has given us to the Son of God, and we have accepted the truth of God; we have believed in the work Jesus did on the cross and in the grave; and we have confessed our sins, believing through faith in Jesus. We are forgiven by Holy God.
That simple truth is the Amazing Love & Amazing Grace of Almighty God.
We are not crazy, and we are not to be pitied. We are not to continue in our sins, holding onto that which the Lord Jesus has died to erase. We are not to be like those who despise, ignore or reject the leading of the Spirit. We are to live for Jesus and continually ”press on to know the LORD.”
Child of God, because we have been purchased by the shed blood of Jesus, we now submit to the Father’s will, knowing that we do not control our futures. Just as we did not have any control over our earthly births, we also cannot control our second birth. JESUS DOES! & JESUS DID!
Then on the day when we pass away, when we draw our final breath—WE WILL GO TO BE WITH JESUS! & THEN, WE ARE FINALLY HOME!
The Lord Jesus Christ speaks today—
“Jesus said to her,
(The Gospel According to John 11: 25-26 NASB)
[Jesus spoke to Martha on the day He raised her brother Lazarus to life]
“I am the resurrection and the life;
he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,
and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.
Do you believe this?”
